Our suite with sea view had airconditioning, which was essential for the very hot weather in February. The Sicilian chef looked after us very well during our week long stay with many classic Italian dishes on the varied menu.
We ate every day at the hotel because the other Restaurants we visited in the rather seedy town of Puerto Jiminez did not appeal to us.

Scarlet MacCaws flew over the hotel every day and fed on nuts in adjacent "Almond" trees. Howler monkeys were howling occasionally in trees in the car park. A trip to Corcovado National Park is highly recommended.

Some drawbacks to be taken into account are the approach road is unsurfaced, washboarded and dusty, the internet works ok in Reception and Restaurant, but not very well in the rooms, and the beach is not suitable for swimming every day, because of waves and rip currents. The pool is a useful alternative.

We appreciate very much your stay with us. We are located minutes a way from down town Puerto Jimenez , we are located right infront of the beach as a quiet and peaceful place in a remote town the internet service is limited. The roads are in better shape that years before, we work hard with local liders to keep the road in good conditions. Thank-you very much.

We enjoyed a fantastic few days over Christmas. Carol on the front desk was excellent, she quickly helped with all our questions and requests.

The pool is perfect, shallow for the kids, also a decent length so you can actually have a swim!

The beach is so close and so empty you wouldn’t believe it! The food and smoothies in the restaurant were delightful.

Chris and all of his team were fab, we will certainly return!

(we had no problem accessing the hotel in the Mitsubishi ASX hire car, just drive round the big lot holes. )

This place is off the beaten track which was great. The staff were friendly, the ocean was beautiful, the pool was great, the restaurant makes home made noodles and dough, and the drinks were spot on. The rooms were nice and beds comfy. If you want to be in town for the night life this is not the place for you. If you want to get off the beaten path in comfort then this is the place. If you take a tour ask for Randal-he knows everything about the animals, plants, & area in general.

We recently visited Agua Dulce On The Beach on a cycling tour of Costa Rica and it was without doubt the worst hotel of our 2 week tour. The rooms are very dated, beds poor, showers were cold/luke warm and WiFi hardly worked at all. The restaurant was a shambles and the evening meals and breakfast were terrible. Service was pretty much non-existent. It turns out that the hotel management have leased the restaurant to another party and have no control of the quality and service. Crazy. The swimming pool was closed for most of our stay because the management had not replaced the filter and the whole thing turned a horrible worrying colour so that they were forced to close it. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Recommend not staying here. Upon arrival manager told me they overbooked, and I could not have the oceanfront bungalow I had reserved on Booking.com. Obviously, I was not happy and told him so. He offered to give me a large pool view room for $500/ 3 nights. My original reservation was for $596/ 3nts. So I showed him the price on Booking.com and it was only $138 for 3 nights. He told me he would honor that price. He canceled the Booking.com reservation and I paid him $138 cash. Once I returned home, I noticed a $360.03 charge from the resort. This is so shady. I never even gave him my credit card. Breakfast was terrible. There was a pic of a hammock. When I asked where the hammocks are the manager showed me a closet and told me I had to set up and bring back after each use. Go elsewhere!!!!!

Hotel is right by the beach, with beautiful view from our pool view room. Amenities in the room was very basic - fitted sheets kept coming off. Very friendly staff and the restaurant food was quite good.
This hotel is about 3 miles from Puerto Jimenez - not a big distance, but the unmetalled roads were washed away by the rains - luckily, we had an AWD SUV to navigate the potholes. Should not be an issue during dry season!

Never again! That was pure disappointment! The hotel may have been nice but today.. there needs to be a lot of investment & renovation! It rained through the ceiling in our room. The hotel manager was very friendly and made us aware of it. We were speechless and disbelieving until we experienced it the same day! Next to the bed a puddle formed! In our toilet the toilet goggle and the lid were missing! The next morning, the manager then arrived with the toilet seat.. The shower was calcified, only a few hard jets of water came through. No shower/bath towels, when we requested some they were clean washed but discolored by bleach. On a rack is coffee powder available.. but no coffee machine doesn't know how we should have made coffee... Breakfast was the most loveless, worst we had experienced in our 6 week round trip!! The operation unmotivated. There is no safe in the room. The huge bathtub was repaired several times, you could see that well. Right next to the pool was a kind of pool bar, which was blocked off with red/white plastic bands, just under reconstruction. Great sight...

I rarely write bad reviews but this place should be avoided. We left after one night.. The agency that placed this hotel with us should also be questioned... CRS-Tours/TraveLocal.

This "Resort" is far from what the pictures show on its website. We were supposed to be there for four days and as soon as we drove up we were shocked at the state of disrepair. When we parked our car we saw a mattress pushed up against a window on the second floor of one of the buildings. The building sorely needed to be painted. Although the pool area and reception were neat, when we went to our room there was a large hole in the screen door. The bedding and towels looked as if they had seen better days. Internet connectivity was virtually nonexistent as we had spotty communications with our travel agent. When we did get in contact with our agent we asked to be moved to another resort nearby. We later found out that Agua Dulce is for sale and has many legal difficulties which may be the cause of the state of the facility. We have been battling this resort to return our funds and yet they keep battling these efforts.

We had two days of fishing planned for the area and our travel agent booked us for the resort. Room was basic and clean. Majority of the staff was very friendly. Because we left so early each morning for fishing, we were going to miss breakfast. They offered to have a packed meal ready for us each morning. Very thoughtful.

Be aware that the restaurant on site is not part of the resort. This caused some confusion and problems, but nothing insurmountable. Note: the restaurant prefers cash.

We did catch fish and the restaurant did prepare a meal for the 4 of us with our fish. It was beautifully presented with grilled pineapple and very delicious. The chef stopped by to ensure we were happy.

What a wonderful hotel, quiet and nice with a lovely pool if you do not want to swim in the sea with the big lovely waves. Helpful staff, good food and clean everywhere. Nature outside the doors with all kinds of birds and lizards watching you.

We paid $12-$15 each way. Our taxi drivers were awesome too, very hospitable. One pulled over to show us the crocodiles in the water below the bridge.

Hey, I believe that you can rent kayaks directly from the resort. I'm not sure how much they cost. Fishing for a full day was $600. However, if you get with a group it will lower your price. I believe the flight to the park is 45 minutes. make sure you pack as much deep woods bug repellent as you can into your bag. We went through four cans in a week. You also want to bring mosquito net . The simple things to us are like gold price wise over there. The beach is literally 10 seconds away. Very nice and secluded. Trust me.. The air and TV at agua dulce are worth it!!!

To be honest, the best way to have a transportation in Puerto Jimenez is to rent a car. Yes, you can get a taxi to the hotel too, I think the cost is around 10 usd.
