Hotel's Favourite
Exceptional staff - friendly, courteous and kind. Beautiful resort with all the amenities you would expect with the "Curio Collection by Hilton".
Large, clean, spacious room with a mini-fridge, microwave and safe. Large wall mounted tv, comfortable king-sized bed with an assortment of pillows. Chocolates, coffee maker. Large walk-in shower and very clean and accessible bathroom.
The food was delicious both at the Driza Bar and Grill (by the pool) and Terra a la Mesa (fine dining).
The pool was warm and inviting. Watched the monkeys in the trees as I swam and an iguana peeking around from one of the palm trees.
Highly recommend going to Cahui Beach. You have to make a reservation at the front desk, but well worth the trip out on the boat to this peaceful place of paradise. There is a restaurant serving drinks and finger foods. As this is the green season, there were only a handful of us enjoying the beautiful sunny day on the beach. Smooth sands, calm water, lounge chairs with umbrellas overhead.
As a solo-woman traveller from Canada, I felt safe the entire time staying at this resort. I walked into town and enjoyed the warm welcome of Puerto Jimenez. I will definitely be back.

The first morning we were here we thought we would have to leave early. The construction was completely destroying the peace at the pool and before we switched rooms we were overlooking it as well. Oddly they seemed to just be doing construction early in the morning and then the rest of the day was more peaceful. Then the next day it just stopped. We are guessing because the high season started then.
The new buildings meant the rooms were very nice and spacious and this is the only luxury property nearby. The pool was awesome since the property is only half built and wasn’t at capacity even for that. Could get a bit tighter with four buildings. Also a minor suggestion, don’t have the pool bar and speakers around pool playing different nuance. The battle of the bands thing isn’t relaxing.
Food was good for the most part with the exception of breakfast. They charged full fare for kids at what was one of the worst breakfast buffets we had seen in recent memory. Also as much as it’s nice to eat outside and you can still do that, setting up the buffet inside would probably be better so no bugs were on food. We skipped breakfast after the first day and bought some stuff at supermarket in town and used the nice kitchen in the room. We stayed for a week so options can get a bit old on food. Did order pizzamail.it delivery one night which was good. Also Marisqueria Corcovado was really good down by the water.
The staff were extremely nice everywhere but still definitely working out the kinks. They forgot dishes at the pool restaurant often and service took awhile. One day they offered free drinks as an apology and then forgot the free drink.
We did a couple tours through Osa Wild and a couple through Crocodile Bay. All were excellent. The Crocodile Bay guides Diego and Eduardo were both really dynamic. Diego found us all four types of monkeys on the Eco tour and Eduardo found us a variety of animals at night.

I had an excellent stay here and was blown away by the professionalism and friendliness of the hotel employees and the style of the resort that incorporates the natural beauty of the area into the design. Tracy at the front desk was exceptionally helpful prior to my arrival when I had questions about arriving by boat from Golfito and she exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Orlando and driven to the hotel. Check in was seamless and I was welcomed as a Hilton Honors Diamond guest and received a space available upgrade to a gorgeous, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, corner suite. I was SO excited! Orlando walked us to our room but also gave us the option to ride in a Tuk Tuk but we wanted to walk and enjoy the tropical beauty of the surroundings. Everything at this resort is just over the top awesome and despite the fact they are still under construction and there is some noise, it did not inhibit our enjoyment one bit. Upon entering our suite, we were blown away by the quality of everything from the spacious, well equipped kitchen with a large island and an enormous picture window facing the trees enabling bird watching (we saw so many!) to the living room with sliding doors leading to the outdoor deck with table and chairs and lounging daybed to the spacious bedrooms with luxurious en-suite baths, we absolutely loved our suite! We saw White faced capuchin monkeys from our deck, Green Parrots and Scarlett Macaws. On our first afternoon, we had lunch poolside and were impressed with both Luis and Enrique at the restaurant. The service at this hotel is stellar. The fish ceviche and Guanabana juice we had for lunch was to die for! There were lots of lounge chairs around the beautifully landscaped pool. We really liked the menu at the poolside restaurant and pricing is reasonable. The expansive Breakfast buffet served at Terra de La Mesa far exceeded our expectations and the food was top notch! From the fresh fruit assortment of papaya, mango, pineapple etc to pastries and breads, to the Gallo Pinto, eggs, French toast, cheeses and charcuterie trays, fresh juices, coffee and tea and many other items, we loved having breakfast at this hotel. An added surprise at breakfast was the feeding station that attracted more exotic birds than I have ever seen all at once and you can watch them from your table! I had never seen many of the birds before and do not know their names. We also heard Howler monkeys. Mateo took us to Playa Preciosa and set up beach chairs, umbrellas and provided water so we could enjoy a beach day. He picked us up at our requested time. We also were impressed with Karol and Sheila during our stay. I most definitely will be back to Botanika in the future and next time will stay for a week! Highly recommend booking a stay at this resort and hiking La Sirena trail of Corcovado while you are there.

Amazing stay in a very impressive, well designed hotel. We are diamond members and we were upgraded to a suite a few days before we arrived. The hotel is still under construction but that didn’t interrupt our stay one bit. We received a welcome drink on a arrival but no above the norm diamond perks which is a shame. We saw so much wildlife within the resort and on our tours.
Breakfast is great, a buffet with a menu to order that is free for diamond members and also has a mimosa station with champagne.
Room and facilities are really well equipped and designed perfectly with a huge fridge to store food and cold drinks. The gym is the best hotel gym I’ve ever seen with state of the art equipment that easily connected to our Apple Watches.
We didn’t really eat much in the hotel as there are a few restaurants a short walk away and the drinks and food outside the hotel are good and reasonable priced. Delfino’s was our favourite place.
The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle, which can pick you up and take you to the airport, it also came to collect us from the local bar when it was raining really heavily.
All the staff were great and everyone was really friendly and happy to help. We did a few tours which were expensive but well worth it, might be a good idea to reserve before you get there as only 80 people can enter Corcovado per day.
Special shout out and thank you to Jose and Diego form eco tours, they were both great! Diego went above and beyond on the Corcovado tour, thanks to his eagle eyes we saw so much wildlife before we even arrived at the park. He really made the experience once in a life time and went to such an effort to ensure we had a great day. We will never forget it! They have all the necessary equipment for the tours and are great at spotting wildlife. The cars are comfortable and well equipped with snacks and cold drinks which are needed after a long walk. We wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. Can’t wait to come back soon.

When we arrived at Botanika we were greeted by a luxurious and impeccably designed environment. Every detail, from the eco-friendly architecture to the landscaping, demonstrated careful thought and commitment to guest comfort with absolute respect for the natural environment. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable.
Our rooms were simply superb and very quiet. The beds were incredibly comfortable, providing a restful rest after a day of adventures. The housekeeping service was impeccable, and the cleanliness of the rooms was exemplary. The bathrooms were also top notch, with modern and luxurious fixtures which added an extra touch of comfort to our stay.
There are plenty of activities to do whether at the hotel or nearby. From hiking in the hotel's forest to stargazing at night, there was always an exciting adventure at hand. The detailed brochures provided a comprehensive overview of the different activities available, giving us the opportunity to plan our days according to our interests and desires. The tour to Corcovado is entirely possible from the hotel's private dock.
Additionally, one of the most memorable experiences at Botanika was the boat transfer from the hotel dock to the Cahui beach club and the beautiful Preciosa beach. This exclusive and free shuttle allowed us to enjoy the crystal clear waters of this secluded beach without having to worry about transportation. It was the perfect opportunity to relax, swim and fully enjoy Costa Rica's paradise coastline.
In addition to the many activities on offer, we were also impressed by the hotel's facilities. The infinity pool was simply stunning with 2 adjacent jacuzzis, offering breathtaking views of the lush green surroundings with an abundance of wildlife at every turn. We were able to observe a howler monkey and several spider monkeys or squirrel monkeys from our deckchair. Note that towels, sunscreen, and soothing cream are available to customers all around the pool. It was the perfect place to relax and refresh after a busy day.
When it comes to food, Botanika's restaurants exceeded all our expectations. The dishes were delicious and prepared with fresh, local ingredients, showcasing the authentic flavors of Costa Rican cuisine. Additionally, the prices were very affordable at Driza Bar & Grill, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
There is only one word to say: Pura Vida. We had an experience of perfection at Botanika and we can't wait to return to enjoy again all that this wonderful place has to offer.

This hotel is very nice overall. The staff there are very nice and friendly. I particularly really appreciated the shuttle drivers and the bellmen. They were extremely attentive and genuinely pleasant. They even gave us a ride to a nearby market when we realized that we forgot supplies. The room itself was extremely nice as well. The only thing that was disappointing was the main restaurant of the hotel. The dinner was not good at all. They advertise as having an a la carte menu but on the first two nights we were there it was a buffet. I am a vegetarian and there were no options for me in the buffet. On the first night when asked they were very accommodating and allowed me to order vegetarian lasagna off the menu (which was not very good at all). The second night however when again they had a buffet, the chef gave me a hard time about wanting something vegetarian off menu. He questioned me loudly in the middle of the restaurant and said “there isn’t enough food for you?” I explained to him that off-looking salad, vegetables, and mashed potatoes were not a good option and I was not going to pay $39 for that. After making me wait longer for the chef’s decision, he reluctantly made the mushroom pasta off the menu. The pool terrace restaurant on property however was great. Good food, friendly staff, and the food there was truly tasty. Eventually we stopped going to the hotel dinner restaurant and went to the pool restaurant only.

We spent a wonderful 4 nights in a Botanika Suite. Brand new, spacious and beautifully furnished rooms in a natural setting allow you to observe a variety of animals (macaws, monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles...) on the hotel grounds without having to book additional tours. A spacious and very well-kept pool area and a private beach club with the hotel's own boat transfer round off the great experience package. From the beach club we were able to watch whales in the bay in August. The breakfast is also very tasty and consists of an a la carte menu and a continental buffet. Many thanks to the entire hotel team for a wonderful stay! We would love to come back!!

My wife and I recently traveled to OSA Península and stayed in Botanika by Curio in Puerto Jimenez. We are Diamond members and stayed in many beautiful Hilton hotels and Resorts but Botanika is unique, the resorts although still under construction is a master piece, the owners are obsessed with the attention to details. The staff makes you feel like home, five stars service. Thank you to Olimpia the fairy tail Grandmother, Vilma, Flory, Pamela, Henry and Diego Oviedo the GM a world class operation.

We were hesitant to plan our Costa Rica trip during the "rainy season" but we were celebrating our wedding anniversary in May 2024. The weather was fantastic and we didn't have the crowds of the dry season. We chose the Botanika because we are Hilton Diamond members as well as its proximity to Corcovado National Park. We were upgraded to a 1 BR suite upon arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. We had a full kitchen and living room in addition to a beautiful balcony that overlooked the rainforest. I cannot emphasize how gorgeous this property is. We saw many different animals on site including capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, lizards and we heard the howler monkeys every day!
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the resort each morning. Staff were gracious and welcoming hosts. We spent a half day (10am-2pm) at the Cahui Beach Resort, which is a quick boat ride away. We took advantage of the shuttle into town to stock up on some light snacks and alcohol to keep in our kitchen. We booked the kayaking and Corcovado park tours on site at the resort; well worth the money. The guides we had were extremely knowledgable. The bridge connecting the lobby to the resort rooms is, indeed, in need of repairs and the resort had cones to mark the areas that were hazardous. (I still had to get a picture on it!!) This was the only downside we could find in staying here. We loved this resort and the people - and we hope to return again someday!

We have had the best experience. The hotel grounds, amenities and staff are top notch. We stayed in the 2 bedroom with the attached lock off corner unit and we saw tons of birds right off of our balcony. The food at the pool bar and at the restaurant are both amazing. The staff and service is beyond what makes this place special.
We went fishing off shore and we caught 9 Mahi Mahi and 1 Tuna. The restaurant prepared tuna sashimi and blackened Mahi Mahi for us that evening.
If you're looking for somewhere it feels remote in the rainforest but also have the convenience of staying in a top notch hotel, this is it!

We went on the Corcovado excursion. It was excellent. A long day but worth it
The beach behind the hotel by the marina is not one to swim at; it is a bit muddy. You would have to walk a few hundred yards around a bend to find a better beach.
