Detailed Reviews
We stopped there on our way to Puerto Jiminez only because it was getting dark, and we didn't really want to drive on the Costa Rican roads at night. Great spot and very nice owner and staff. It was a pleasant surprise. I would stay there again. The supper and breakfast that we had were home cooked and very good.

We just stopped to drink 1 fresh fruit juice (pineapple and passion fruit), the staff is very nice, the place is peaceful, a real haven of peace, a pretty garden, a pretty swimming pool. The subs were excellent. We came back there on the way back from Corcovado for our breakfast.

Terrific site in front of a very beautiful and well-kept exotic garden, and an extraordinary view of the valley. Price of dishes correct given the isolation. On the other hand, be prepared for somewhat fanciful hours depending on the boss, nice, but let's say, very very "cool"...

This is a great place to stay. The service is more than perfect, with very friendly and good staff. The place is beautiful, in the middle of the forest; there are a lot of fantastic tours to make nearby, both in the forest and in the sea. It probably was the place where we had the best food in Costarica, and we spent a lot of time in many diferent places. Aña, the manager, Gava, the chef, Sandro and the entire staff are what any tourist would like to meet when abroad. The cabins are simple but with everything one needs. The owner also owns a great place in Drake, and are very available. This was our highest moment of a long trip in Costa Rica.

Nice cabins on the side of the mountain, clean and comfortable. This place is the place to go away from the crowds but not too far from other attractions. The monkeys play in the trees, the toucans perch in the trees and other wild life entertain you. They have a small pool that is well kept and cools you down. The family is friendly and accommodating. I love this place and will re-visit every time I am in the area. Their rates are quite reasonable as well.

We got stuck with a traffic accident and noticed this place when stopping by for a refreshment for our long road trip. The hospitality was so memorable that we went back to stay overnight when the traffic was held for hours due to a fatality. The room was comfortable, and just what we needed for a good rest. The next morning,we had coffee at our door and noticed the gorgeous view from our small porch as we listening to the birds while sipping wonderful coffee. Also, the complimentary breakfast was amazing including great coffee and delicious seasonal tropical fruits.

Osa PenĂnsula and Golfo Dulce are beautiful places to visit in Costa Rica. There you can find perfect clean water in the sea, hotels are rustic because this is a protected area, so, buildings can not be big, all activities you can find in Puerto JimĂ©nez are eco friendly and this contribute to nature conservation. Near Puerto JimĂ©nez there is Corcovado National Park, this is an important National Park to Costa Rica's biodiversity, there are tours to visit this big National Park. In Golfo Dulce, you can do dolphin watching on boat around December and January, that's a beautiful tour. To visit Golfo Dulce you don't need a big budget, just need to invest around 6 hours traveling from San JosĂ©, or, do it by plane.

It is winter and rainy season here and we feel like this is our private resort. The view of cloud shrouded mountains, the song of the rain on the roof while swinging in the hammock on the patio of our Cabina makes this a magical place. Breakfast and dinner were delicious as always. We lazed by the pool after taking the short but strenuous walk on the nature trail. Don't miss the great 360• view of the Gulf and mountains from the little plateau above the road. The gardens are lushly landscaped. The patio restaurant has the best view and strong wifi.

Fantastic! Margaret and I cannot praise this place, the host, the food, the views enough!
We have stayed in some luxurious places in many parts of the world but this was a simple cabina and we loved it. Safe parking, luscious grounds, exotic birds viewed from your table or porch, a particular tree favoured by several toucans along with many monkeys to be seen in the trees. Even if you don't stay, which you should, just pull in for an open air meal with magnificent views.
You will love your hostess, Cheri (we gave her the title of "professor") who helped us with our Spanish at meal times. We travelled a great deal over three weeks in December 2014 and saw immense beauty along the way, but Cheri and the Mirador stand out in our wonderful memories.

Charming spot with cute cabanas that have views of the morning mist filled valley. The toucan and hummingbirds flit through the luscious gardens. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Had the best piece of fish ever. Stayed here on my first night in Costa Rica and came back later for my last night. Hope to return soon. Don't miss walking the Mirador Osa trail. It has amazing Golfo Dulce views and jungle experience.

The El Mirador has A/C units in the bungaloos. Ours worked very well.
Yes, there are not many spots, but parking is free

"I have visited this hotel on two occasions. The first time I was there I stayed with my granddaughter who was 8 years old at the time. We woke up early and watched the monkeys playing in the trees, swam in the pool and watched the many beautiful birds in the trees. This family owned hotel are so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. Internet can be spotty during the afternoon storms but worked most of the time. Food is delicious. I will definitely go back every time I go to Costa Rica."Read full review
