Had to find a place to stay while the wife was in the hospital. The hospital area wasn’t great. I found this a great price, 10 min taxi ride and across from the ocean. I got there about 1am, the young man at the desk was very friendly and did his job well. At 1am it looked like this hotel could go eiter way, but I was pleasantly surprised. They also have free breakfast and an attached restaraunt. I was not there in time for breakfast, but she gave me OJ and the place smelled great and looks clean. It is nothing fancy, but well worth the price.

We arrived in Puntarenas in the afternoon and saw this hotel while driving on the 'main drag'. We had booked another place but had a feeling this hotel would offer more. It was less expensive around $80 for a seaview suite (highly recommended) and very secure parking. The hotel seemed to still be going through renovations but it never bothered us. Anyways, the best things about this place are the large rooms and beautiful location. Good wifi, clean, and a decent restaurant. I would go again.

We came off the ferry one evening looking for a place to spend the night before heading to the airport the next morning. This hotel caught our eye and we went in, checked pricing and asked to look at a room. The hotel is actually very nice. Clean and spacious rooms with breakfast included, good Wifi, etc. Also liked the secured parking garage. We opted for a non-beachfront room, which was cheaper. It was also towards the back of the hotel, overlooking the pool, parking area, and the parking gate. The security guard has a dog which seemed to bark non-stop through the night. I called twice to complain that I couldn't sleep and each time I was told they would take care of it. So, unless you enjoy sleeping through loud barking, I would beware. I almost gave this hotel two starts because of this, but everything else was good. A couple of more things... It took the hot water tap about 1/2 hour to finally put out hot water. The tub was a little interesting. No shower curtain and the shower head is not elevated. Not a big deal, but kind of quirky. All the remotes are in Japanese, so I had to guess what was what. Oh, and the Burger King is right next door, which we enjoyed.

This hotel opened up in november 2012, Half of it is still in construction. By law in Costa rica they need 60rooms opened to open a Casino, they are preparing a Casino on the second floor.
Lots of missing or weird items. For example there is no shower curtain, all remote controls are in Chinese, we had to find out how the Air conditionner and tv remote worked. At first our electronic doorlock wasnt locking the door. We asked for another room and they moved us without hesitating. Watch out this might happen on other rooms, we were able to open another room just by pushing it. We heard some noises from the construction starting around 8AM.
There is a parking under the hotel for maximum 10 vehicules, with an automatic door and a guard. The pool is right beside the garage entrance and its kinda small around 16'.
The bathroom mirror is too low for anyone who wants to look at their face in a mirror between 5 and 6 foot tall, most humans. The hot water isnt really hot or takes a lot of time to heat up. The shower wasnt working well.
The windows and door terrasse arent sealed properly. Im saying this because we were moved ocean view, the view in the morning was incredible. But we had a little tropical storm during the night, the wind was whisling between the windows and the rain was coming in under the terasse door and windows. We asked for towels to minimize the damages.
They also own the Appetite restaurant on the first floor which is really good ! The seafood were great, the english menu isnt tranlated perfectly, but overall the food was fresh and tasted good. Prices are really affordable for an hotel restaurant, but it doesnt has this standing yet.
This hotel is owned by a Chinese family which also own the small grocery store beside the hotel.

Located on the waterfront in downtown Puntarena, this is a good hotel if you have a good room . If you can, definitely try to book a room with a veranda facing the water. They're bigger, the views are amazing, and at night if it's stormy you can fall asleep to the sound of falling rain. The hotel staff (reception and restaurant) are friendly and try to be helpful.
3 suggestions for the owners/managers. Please install shower curtains next to the bathtubs -- it's hard to use your hand-held shower without getting water on the bathroom floor. Also please take a second look at the very long list of conditions that your incoming guests must sign -- the list can almost seem hectoring instead of welcoming. Also, a safe or strongbox would be nice

I'm a costarrican and went with my whole family for a weekend. It's nice, clean and family oriented. The location is super safe and has everything you need within walking distance. The owner of the hotel lives there and is always willing to help you! Highly recommended.

This is by far hotel at the Center of Punt arenas, not only for the facilities also due price/quality relation.
Of course, it is not a chain hotel, but you will find a place where you could get the most for having a good time at Puntarenas.
The food and rooms are fine.
The best of the hotel is the service and their people, they will treat you very well trying to service you quick and as best as possible.

Could not wait to get out of hotel yardan our first night in puntarenas and found this place much better and a staff that actually cared about its guests. Hotel is a great value and will return if ever back here.

We stayed in the hotel Puntarenas beach one night on the way from samara to Manuel Antonio park.
Very dated furniture and equipment.Terrible bed and pillows.The window was facing the terrace where everybody has access to and you can open the window from this terrace and enter the room easily.
We were just lucky that our stuff was save

this hotel was recently renovated but it was not a high-end renovation. the sheets did not look like they had been changed in a long time and there was hair all over the place.the breakfast was very strange as it had a Chinese touch on it as the owners of this place our Chinese. Did not enjoy the food at all. I am so glad that we didn't stay there longer than one night since we were just passing through.
