What a great place - beautiful, large, clean rooms, original art in a tranquil garden and fresh setting in the hills above San Jose. Kenneth made everything so easy arriving in the evening after our long flight and took magnificent care of my teenage daughter and I. After sending Andres to meet us at the car rental company (which was...

If you have never been to Costa Rica, you need to make sure your first night's stay is at La Boruca! They will come and pick you up at the airport and take you to their hideaway 20 minutes away (the b&b is not actually in San Jose, but to the North-East of San Jose, so the location could be...

As soon as you arrive you realise why this place is rated so highly! I don't think that anyone could be disappointed to be here. Staying here was wonderful from start to finish, and very resaonably priced. Lovely touches like the little pool, huge comfy bed, and movies in the room. Great food, the most helpful and relaxed hosts ever...

Our stay at this B&B set the tone for our entire ten day tour of this incredible country. We were picked up at the airport in San Jose by Kenneth, the owner of La Baruca, and his daughter. On the way, he gave us a mini tour of the city. We were bowled over by the beauty of his B&B....

I have stayed at La Boruca on a number of occasions and would not think of staying anywhere else in San Jose! The spacious, tastefully decorated rooms are always spotless and equipped with a computer with movie library and wi-fi access-perfect for working or researching your trip. The gardens are beautiful, literally overloaded with orchids, bromeliads and exotic plants and...

The room was spacious, very clean and decorates with style. The owners are very friendly and are willing to go an extra mile to help make your stay the most pleasant. The location is beautiful but kind of far from San Jose activities. The pool is on the small side.

Ken was outstanding! He met us so we could follow him to the Hotel, arranged our car rental drop off and found us a place to get a pedicure and haircut (within 5 minutes we were driving there) Great family atmosphere and the rooms are very private. Very friendly!

I have lived in Costa Rica for 6 years and have experienced quite a few B&B's. I prefer small boutique hotels where you have a chance to meet other guests and get a genuine "feel" for the country and its people. Frequently you have to pay big bucks to get all the things that "La Boruca" offers so I was...

This will be La Boruca's 26th 5 star review. Think about that for a second - there are 26 reviews on here, and every single person to review La Boruca has given the accommodation 5 stars. The reasons are clear: 1. Kenneth: What a fantastic host! Gracious, full of advice and he helped us with renting a car. His staff...
