We stayed in Aldea hostel after our flight to costa rica. We stayed on the second floor, in a room facing the street. It was really noisy. At first light cars and trucks start driving and make a lot of noise. Do ask for a room that is not facing the street. We had toilet and a shower in the...

Thank you for your comments. Your feedback helps us address improvements, that can be made moving forward. One of the drawbacks to having such a good and central location in this area, is that there tends to be heavy traffic. In the future, our staff would be more than willing to work with you, over any concerns you may have...

Aldea hostel is perfectly placed in San Jose and is in a good, safe part of town. It's about 10 minutes away from the city centre which suited us fine. The hostel itself is kept very clean and the staff are always on hand to assist with any questions or problems we had. There is a decent kitchen which is...

We're glad that you liked the cleanliness of the housing and kitchen facilities/common areas. The...

My experience at the hostel was mixed. It was fine, but the rooms were a bit dilapidated (both the door to my room and my bathroom door jammed shut at one stage). Some of the staff were extremely helpful while others not helpful at all. The hostel's location is ok during the day - about a 15/20 minute walk from...

Hi Katie, Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us address improvements that can be made in the future. We're glad you got to enjoy the pizza next door and breakfast in the morning. Our hostel's location is one of it's strongest points; as you mentioned, Downtown San Jose is within walking distance and features...

I stayed for one night at the Aldea hostel in a single room, which would have been able to accommodate another 3 people (1 double bed + 1 bunk bed), with a private bathroom and fan+AC. It was clean although you can tell that it's not a recent construction (don't expect anything super-fancy). There was an outside patio with a...

A quaint and relaxed atmosphere is just what we are always working towards! Yes, we are located in an old mansion, but we have been renovating our rooms recently to provide our guests with a more comfortable and welcoming feeling. It is great to hear that you found our staff easy-going, responsive, and knowledgeable - these are goals that we...

Stayed here as a transit through to Puerto viejo from la Fortuna. In a single room with ensuite it was perfect and private. Staff member was efficient and the hostel has a restaurant attached where you receive a 10% discount which was perfect when I arrived in the evening on a long bus ride.

We got a room for a night before out flight took off.
