Stayed for a night after missing our flight and it was pretty good. Only real issues were that the front desk could not get in touch with a local taxi company for us so we had to order an Uber to airport and the gym door was broken during our visit. Also, not sure if it was just who was occupying a room near us or if the doors themselves are heavy but we kept hearing slamming happening between like 3pm-9pm which was just kind of odd. We were placed at the end of a hallway. The pool was nice and not really occupied while we were there. Gym equipment was a comparable setup to an apartment complex one with a couple machines for cardio and a basic set of weights. Overall comfy beds, good basic bathroom, lots of space in the room - good for a short stay.

My traveling companions, Linda and Chuck Miller, and I stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn in Santa Ana recently. We spent our first and last nights in Costa Rica there on July 19 and August 2. We were most impressed with the professionalism and courtesy shown us by Deby Rodriguez and Lester Velasquez at the front desk. They gave us directions, made arrangements for our Covid tests, called us taxis and, in general, made our trip so much easier and enjoyable. They especially helped when my email didn’t come with the results of my Covid test, making phone calls to the hospital to solve the problem. Their understanding of our English and translating for us was such a help! You have all gone above and beyond what we expected! Thanks to you and your staff.

I have mixed feelings about my stay here. My husband and I stayed in a king junior suite and here’s my take on it. This place has the weirdest entry I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. You pull up to what looks like a side entrance that allows for one or two cars to park for up to fifteen minutes. The entrance does not lead into the main lobby which is actually upstairs. The entrance area (which was extremely hot) is a room with two chairs and elevator access. No signage anywhere to indicate you are in the right place and that the lobby is upstairs. We were left wondering if maybe we were using the employee entrance. Up in the lobby - it was just as hot as the weird entry. Our room - it was very large and was comfortable in that respect but the decor was very bland and very, very sterile. I can appreciate a modern aesthetic but this was not it. We’re talking about institution - which is what staying in this room felt like. I have been in hospital rooms with more appeal. Our room had only one picture and miles of white walls, it felt very barren and unwelcoming. The Mountain View would have been nice had it not looked out to the lot next door with tall column after column of old concrete and rebar. We choose a king Jr. Suite for its size and the kitchenette. We were staying for seven days and would be occupying the room a good bit after having oral surgery. The kitchenette area left a lot to be desired. It was not really equipped and was pretty much useless - just a half hearted attempt to be able to call it a kitchenette. Even though it was a large area it had a very small fridge. It was stocked (everything for a fee) and we had to remove it’s contents in order to use it. In the kitchenette there was a shelf with two glasses, two wine glasses, two plates and only one knife and fork, a crystal ice bucket with no lid and nowhere to get ice. No spoons or bowls, no paper towel, no dish cloth or dish towel and no soap. I called the front desk and mentioned it to them but nothing was ever done about it. We ended up having to buy our own products after spending $250 a night for our stay. There was a table and two chairs which was fine for us but if a small family were to stay here there is no seating for any more than two. There was also a very small, vinyl covered blue couch against one wall that didn’t have any arms and was hard as a rock. Again, hospital chairs have more comfort. The upside is that the room was large as was the closet. The air worked really well and kept our room nice and cool which contributed to a good nights sleep. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well which is important. The Wi-Fi worked really well and there were convenient usb ports on each side of the bed for charging our devices. The bathroom - it was fine. It was fairly large with a walk-in, rain head shower but given its size, the sink area was rather small in comparison - one sink with a little space to put necessary things. Housekeeping and breakfast staff - here’s where this hotel shines. Our room was immaculate, super clean. I appreciated that the soap and tissues were refilled without me having to request it and the extra towels I requested were replenished without having to ask twice. The restaurant staff were always cheerful and accommodating and the morning breakfast was pretty decent. Fresh made to order eggs and a nice variety of traditional breakfast items. The coffee was great - it was after all Costa Rican. Will I stay here again? Probably not, other than the few things mentioned above that stood out we found it to be a very depressing place to stay.…

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here for business / personal. The hotel and surrounding area is fairly new and clean. It’s a good location for limited shopping and some restaurants. It’s safe and comfortable. The double room was clean, we’ll maintained. The staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful from front desk, bar tender, cafe and housekeeping. Very convenient Hotel located in a quiet and secure place in San Jose. Breakfast is fully enjoyable with many options, fruits, rice and beans, sausages, cereals, breads and cheese. The Hotel still has a new built building smell and for me is how great the staff is cleaning making everything neat.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Santa Ana hotel in San José for 16 nights visiting my family, the hotel is beautiful and modern, it is new, the staff is very friendly and kind, the destination is amazing, but there are several things that need to be improved. the beds are not comfortable, the bathroom is modern and the vanity has no place to put personal bathroom items, they should put a shelf under the bathroom sink for that, the hair dryer is not in the bathroom but in the closet because it has no place If put, the walls in the rooms is very thin and does not insulate the noise from other rooms, a lot of noise at night and in the morning. This hotel is very beautiful but they should correct all these ,but it is also the Best hotel in the Santa Ana area. There is a lot restaurants front the Hotel .…

One night January 3rd. To be fair we stayed there 9 days before and had a good experience. We needed a hotel the night before departing Costa Rica and decided to come back. BIG MISTAKE! The room was filthy! If we weren’t so tired and leaving the next morning we would have requested a new room. There were clumps,of hair all over the floor and our feet were black after walking on the floor. I doubt the floor had been cleaned in over a week. There were other issues too. An empty Kleenex box, deadbolt lock didn’t work and they put body lotion in the shower instead of conditioner in error. The biggest issue though was the lack of following up. I complained to the desk manager while checking out and she assured me that I’d hear from the general manager later that day. 30 hours later, still no email or call. I’m a Hilton Honors member and I’m furious regarding that lack of accountability from this hotel.…

This hotel is newer, and a beautiful place with wonderful rooms. Very comfortable and everything worked well. It is set in a little complex of shops, restaurants, and a theater. Good location. Lots of markets and such nearby. Staff were all very attentive. I would happily return here.

I was in Costa Rica for a conference and this was one of the hotels chosen to host delegates. The rooms are large and very clean the beds are a large double and were very comfortable. I was very impressed with the bedrooms style and the maintenance of the property. The breakfast is excelklent and during the conference we had dinner at the hotel which was also very good. The staff are delightful, they are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The positive is that the hotel is just 20 minutes from the airport, the negative is that its far from downtown San Jose. But there is a bus from opposite the hotel that goes to downtown. The other negative is that there are no slippers or bathrobes, nor shower caps luckly I had packed my own. I was so impressed with the place that I decided to use it as my base for the 3 days after the conference I stayed in Costa Rica. They also arranged two reasonably priced but very good tours for me. I would stay here again and recommend it!…
