Here for our honeymoon. First night in Costa Rica. No lies, downtown is very busy. Lots of people, lots of walking around. Hotel Presidente had very friendly staff! Helped with every question. Would def consider here in the future.

We religiously look at trip advisor before planning any arrangements for Accomodations. This was by far the most overrated hotel we have stayed in during our 10 days in Costa Rica. The rooms are terrible, my wife felt extremely unsafe ( the doors do not lock properly) the location is THE WORST....as we felt we'd be mugged at any moment,...

We are sorry that we could not meet your expectations. Clearly, San Jose is not a good fit for your expectations. It is a safe city, and as you can read in multiple comments on Trip Advisor, location is remarked as an advantage for staying at the Presidente, along with our design, staff, service, uniqueness.

We stayed here two nights at the bookends of our trip in Costa Rica. Great location very central. Good breakfast buffet included. Room was clean but window was a bit broken as didn't close properly, handyman did an ok fix job but obviously needs some proper maintenance.

Completely refurbished hotel in the heart of San Jose! Awesome style with a hipster- boutique touch! Staff extremely nice, the food is delicious and the lobby it's the perfect place to chill or work. Near to all the museums. Definetely a place to recommend 100%!

After doing a ton of research before heading to San Jose, we decided upon Hotel Presidente. I am so glad we did! Amazing service (the front desk/reception personas were extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable), clean and comfy rooms, and situated in the best location (cannot be beat)! We will definitely be back to this hotel whenever back in San Jose.

We stayed here for 1 night before flying home after a long holiday in Costa Rica and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped with excellent sleep quality despite its central location. The staff were friendly and always on hand to help with taxi arrangements and everything else, they even gave us thank you...

We stayed one night at this hotel before going to another part of Costa Rica. It's well located. However the room was a disappointment: small, and the bathroom clearly needs an update. In addition it was noisy. Finally the breakfast was not up to the expectations. It's just good enough for one night.

Location was great! Just few blocks from everywhere and I felt very safe in that Neighborhood since it was so close to central street. Lobby is beautiful ! Old fashioned , great design. Room was specious and nice! Bathroom big-gym small and the terrace roof top was closed for renovations. Breakfast was huge and delicious-buffet style. Would return because of...

Thank you for your great review and strong endorsement. Terrace restaurant - Azotea Calle 7 - is due to open later this month. Renovations are finished, we are just finalizing menus and training staff. Held our first yoga session last week. Come back and visit!
