We stayed for two days before heading to the coast. What an amazing hotel - it feels like what Hemmingway must have frequented in Cuba. Dark oak walls, elegant decor and a courtyard bar make it amazing. We stayed in Room 31 which completely captured this old world charm. The staff was helpful, informed and very attentive.

We spent 4 nights at this tastefully appointed boutique hotel. At check-in, Pablo greeted us with a flute of fresh fruit juice and a plate of fresh fruit awaited us in our room. Marco, the manager has done a great job of placing emphasis on customer service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They all knew us by our names which...

An excellent place to start and/or end a trip to Costa Rica. Very nice place; interior courts and gardens, a spa; everything neat and beautifully small. A real gem. The restaurant with its bar and interior court is just wonderful. Nice food, too.

I would definitely stay back at this hotel again. It is right in the middle of San Jose, but off on this really quiet side road. The staff is incredible and our rooms were beautiful. We were only staying there one night and wished we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed at Grano de Oro seven years ago and found it a charming place. When we headed back to Costa Rica with our extended family, we knew we wanted to introduce them to this little slice of luxury. The hotel has been remodeled since our last visit. The changes added to the beauty of the hotel,...

I love this hotel for my last nights stay before heading back Home. The hotel is on the outskirts of downtown and about 15-20 to SJO. The rooms are great and the restaurant is even better. I have made this an annual stop.Headed back for my 8th visit in September.

The hotel is beautifully maintained. We stayed here one night, before departing to come back home. With an early morning flight, traffic to the airport was not an issue. There is security for vehicles, and the restaurant was impressive (although we had less than attentive/less than friendly service there - it was a two hour meal that felt like two...
