We actually stayed here in July and August and it's outstanding reviews are richly deserved. This is a really lovely hotel and an amazing restaurant! The room was spacious, immaculately cleab and comfortable. The dining experience was excellent. The breakfast has a wide selection and always cooked to perfection. The evening meals were also very good and reasonably priced. Thank...

Great place, great food, expensive but worth it. Clean, comfortable, accommodating. Service like they mean it. Easy walk to all the good stuff and there is nothing to be "afraid" of in san Jose either. A great place to start and end the trip. Next time down we are going to stay in San Jose longer and it will be...

We stayed at the Grano de Oro for the first night of our honeymoon. Our room was located in a garden surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants. Our dinner and breakfast the next morning were delicious! The waitstaff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing and peaceful. It was a wonderful way to begin our honeymoon!!

The hotel was beautiful, we had a family suite with excellent beds and opportunities for privacy. There are green places with water and fountains inside the winding hotel and you actually get breezes in the halls. We were told they had an excellent restaurant so we went for it the first night. The restaurant was a bit 'swank' for a...

From the fresh mango juice at check-in to the private fountains outside each room, this hotel is not to be missed. Amazing rooftop jacuzzi, splendid restaurant (try the banana pancakes), thoughtful period decor. San Jose is a dusty town, but Grano de Oro is a magical retreat.

We stayed at Grano de Oro the first night of our honeymoon (6/24/13) before heading to visit the hot springs in Arenal for a few days. It was so lovely and were treated so well that we decided to stay here again our last night in Costa Rica. When we checked in the second time, they recognized us and decided...

We enjoyed our stay at the Grano De Oro. The room was small but well appointed. We slept well and that was what we were looking for. The food at the restaurant was very good. the wait staff were very kind however they need to step up to the level of the hotel. We were very pleased with the experience.

We and our 2 teenagers only stayed one night here, but it was a beautiful hotel furnished in the old colonial style with extremely comfortable rooms and very good bathroom facilities. The dining room was gorgeously decorated and the food extremely good. Unfailingly polite and helpful staff and quiet and restful surroundings added to its great charm. We highly recommend...

My husband and I stayed here for one night before catching an early morning flight. It's so much more beautiful in person- the pictures just do not do it justice!! It has the charm of a small bed and breakfast, but the amenities of a large hotel. After traveling all day, we were exhausted. So, after grabbing some lunch a...
