first off, no elevator and narrow stairways. the service was OK, the food was passable, and the hookers were aggressive. not what I was looking for in any respect. My room was a mini-suite with a king size bed set in an alcove with only about 12" of space on each side. interesting concept, but poor execution. this was my...

Stayed 24-29 April 2016. As always the all-inclusive package makes this the best deal in San Jose. The kitchen is superb. The bar is a great place to relax and meet other travelers. Drawback for the mobility challenged is that there is no elevator.

This hotel is close to downtown with a great restaurant. The staff go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. Darren the hotel manager goes out of his way to answer any questions regarding trips or sightseeing. They have a all inclusive or a breakfast plan both which are good value. The only drawback is the morning train...

I just returned from a week here. As noted in other reviews, most of the clientele are gringos of various age groups visiting for various purposes. Some I met were there on business, some like me were first time or repeat tourists, while others were there other interests. I saw a few apparent working ladies at the bar and dining...

The Hotel La Amistad was very nice, I liked the restaurant menu, The Staff was very friendly. The only negative was the adnauseum whistle blowing in the morning from the commuter train, and distant dog barkings.

I stayed at the La Amistad 6 times from 2012-2015. I'm going back in the spring. I must admit when my friend suggested it on my first trip I was sceptical. Rudy and Carlos or more than friendly and they bust their butts to make everything go smooth. The last time I was able to sleep more than 8 hours...

I stayed at this hotel for one night and it definitely exceeded expectations. It's located downtown in a great location. The staff was courteous and kind and were multilingual. The bed in my room was very very comfortable and the room was very clean

I didn't have very high expectations when I reserved 5 rooms for me and my friends. I have stayed in quite a few hotels in San Jose that look nice and end up a dump. Example in March we stayed at Mona Lisa. Pictures on line looked great but the actual rooms were no bueno . Hotel La Amistad has...

This is a very well run property with a great staff. I stayed there from Sept 30th- Oct 8th 2015. It is a converted mansion with many rooms some being penthouses down to comfortable queen accommodations. Anything I needed was provided without question including laundry, ironing, taxi service. The chef cooking is excellent and they have a extensive menu for...
