I stayed there for three nights. I was not looking for luxury so wasn’t expecting the taj majal. I was booked for four nights but left a night early. The staff was nice but the property is in such disrepair. My room had no hot water in shower, the safe wasn’t operational, the electrical was so dangerous I didn’t even charge my phone or other electronics into it. My room was towards the back and had a strange common area that it shared with another room which didn’t lock. How this is even rated other than price is beyond me. Yes, it’s a gay hotel and I am gay and it is Costa Rica, but the mattress/bedding/towels were all sub par, and the entire hotel needs a good power washing and facelift. Will not be coming back.

I booked one night here based on the hotels TripAdvisor ranking. This hotel should not be ranked as it is on TripAdvisor. If I had read the most recent reviews I would have stayed any other hotel. This "hotel" is basically a bar with a very unusual building attached to it they call a "resort". I was first given a room on the ground floor right beside the lobby. It was dark, smelled bad and the noise from the bar and lobby was unbearable. The very kind staff moved me to another room further away from the bar. While quieter, this room was dark, dingy and also had an unpleasant smell. Avoid this "hotel". It should not be ranked #9 based on Traveller Rankings on TripAdvisor.

Pros: It's the most gay play you can stay in San Jose. However, there are a lot of straight women that hang out with gay friends at the small bar especially in the evening on weekends. Breakfast is served each morning (order off menu) Cons: If pool was heated, it was kept at a low temperature. Property is very much outdated and not well maintained (lights not working and outlets broken). Many rooms do not have any windows to allow for natural light. You will need to taxi or uber to go to restaurants. It's about 20 min ride to downtown. If I were staying in San Jose again in advance of side trips to other parts of Costa Rica, I'd likely stay closer to town in a better maintained establishment even if that meant staying in a traditional hotel.

There are rooms at the front left of the entrance..avoid these if you go to bed before 3am! The staff is friendly and always available to assist. Overall the age of the facility shows in the funishings, floors and electrical infrastructure. The plumbing at the sink had no hot water. I think the target market is a very young audience focused on pool parties and drag shows and low prices.

This hotel is attached to a bar, which has drag shows at weekends and is extremely loud (not great the night before an early flight). The rooms are basic and cleaning is questionable. Not the most comfortable beds, warm room, and not in the best location. The only redeeming feature is how friendly the staff were. Also (not that it would bother me), but worth pointing out the pool is open 24 hours a day and is clothing optional. All in all, poor value for money and I wouldn't return.

I had a reservation here March 2022 and was excited to support and stay at gay-owned business during my visit to beautiful Costa Rica. However my room was not as described. There was: - Mold on the wall next to the glass door - The sliding glass door did not lock - The “garden” was a mess and there was a secret pathway that allowed entry into the garden and the room (the glass door didn’t lock) - There were holes on the ceiling exposed to the sky above - The room had a distinct odor - Overall it was unsafe I will say that the two staff I spoke to were very nice but nothing about the room was acceptable or as advertised. I stayed for approximately 3 hours and left to find another hotel. I reached out to the hotel for a resolution but none was ever provided.

Boutique style hotel. Very accommodating. Everyone on staff appeared to just love their jobs there. Pia and Elise at guest services, with Angel and Jeffery bartenders made our stay very memorable and so enjoyable. Anything we needed was tended to by the hotel staff - dining recommendations, shopping suggestions, then finally transfers to and from the airport - mucho gusto Omar ! The hotel even arranged scheduling our required COVID testing and transportation to and from the testing center (Omar again !) before we could fly out. Strongly recommend Colours Oasis Resort for any LGBT traveler visiting San Jose CR ! We will be back !

I was referred to this hotel via a social media connection as I was going to Air BNB but I love to stay at and support gay establishments. I did some research and decided I had to stay here. I had contact with Liz and she was very helpful with my questions and getting all the health protocols in order as well as securing my transportation upon my arrival. The first person I met upon arrival was the owner and that was just pretty cool, over the course of my stay I had the privilege of having many fruitful conversations with him and it was truly a pleasure. I stayed in room 23 on the 2nd floor with a view of the mountains from my window, we have none in FL so this was a treat. The staff was very accommodating and the FOOD was incredible, the presentation was always spot on and I tried many dishes while I was there. I had one objective this trip and that was to go to Irazu which I did thanks to one of the staff members setting it up. The rest of my time there was simply to relax and indulge in the music and drink at the bar which did not disappoint. I met travelers from all over the world, which is always a plus and the pool was very nice although I did not go swimming it was utilized by other vacationers and locals. The warmth of the staff was truly a nice touch and I will definitely return as there are so many other things I want to see in Costa Rica but if you are looking for a friendly resort with great food, music and drinks, I highly recommend.

Cannot say anything bad about this very lovely gay-hotel! We had such a great time here and the main lady in the reception was so, so lovely and felt genuinely wonderful! Such a sweetheart! (Unfortunately don't know her name, but it was the main lady in the reception) Everything is just so welcoming and beautiful and we had such a great time! If I'd say anything that needs improvement it'll be to maybe have more events and inviting offers (2 for 1 for drinks and stuff) to make it more of a go-to spots for the gays but apart from that I only have good things to say about Oasis! (Also, we had the large apartment right by the pool and it was fantastic - very spacious and just had everything you could ever think of!)

This tiny slice of paradise is just a short Uber ride (15mins) from the airport. As we checked in we were buzzed in at the front door, greet security. I always felt safe and relaxed here during my stay. The wonderful Liz and Omar helped us check in and helped us to our room with our bags. We settled into our room with a king size firm bed with a flat screen tv and large walk in shower. No a/c but with the amazing weather who needs a/c? During our stay we got to met the incredible staff who went above and beyond. In all my travels I’ve never met such incredible hosts. The owner should be very proud of the amazing team that works here. I’m kinda jealous, i wanna work here. Hugo and Renato are two of the most hospitable and caring men in this industry. Our talented Nestor who will whip up any drink was great. Yorling’s cooking was dynamite. She prepared us some authentic local foods. Thank you also to Anthony and Andrea. They have coffee everyday from 6:30 am to 10:30 am but if you are like me, i drink it all day. Usually there’s always coffee. The place is clean, comfortable and just a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a grocery store, liquor store and small convince store all within just a moments walk. The pool was refreshing and clean, never saw any mold. Our towels were the typical hotel towels. The room and furniture in our room were not stained and it was cleaned everyday. Is this a 5 star resort, NO, but is it a resort that is clean, comfortable, affordable and have some of the best staff around YES!!!!!!
