We stayed in March at the beginning and end of our tour of Costa Rica. We took rooms with a shared bathroom, due to our budget, they cost about $42 with taxes each, and I honestly don't think you could do better in such a central location, with the most fabulous breakfast included. I have never had such a good...

Wow, Katebrenchely, Simply a wonderful review. Thank you very much for taking your time to write this lovely opinion on TripAdvisor. We are delightful to read that you liked our non-traditional hotel experience and specially our buffet breakfast. Also, we are trying to solve the cat problems in the Hotel. Once again, we appreciate this great review and we hope...

Arrived in San Jose late at night so didn't really get to appreciate this place until the next morning.... breakfast was delicious, served on a delightful terrace. Location is great - better than being right in the centre, be sure to check out Calle 33 with great bars and restaurants just a 5/10min walk away.... the hotel provided us with...

I stayed here with my significant other in April. We arrived around 11:30PM and were surprised that someone was at the front desk to check us in. Check-in was easy and we stayed in room 20. The room was pretty basic and clean, had a flat screen TV, and ceiling fan. The bathroom was very clean and modern, though there...

The way this hotel has been developed - by joining several old houses - is interesting and charming. They have retained gardens and patios, and some of the exterior walls have become interiors. So it is charming and attractive. However, the much-vaunted breakfast, although extensive, seems somehow shallow. There are a lot of pastries, and it appears to cater to...

Dear Margaret, Thank you for taking tour time to write this review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate your comment about our infraestructure. We work to keep the architectural design intact. We are disappointed to read that, for you, our breakfast seems shallow. In our buffet breakfast we also offer Gallo Pinto, plátano maduro, yuca frita, eggs, omelettes, pancakes, french toasts, tortillas,...

Good Hotel not to far by walking from downtown, with a great Homemade Breakfast every morning on the terrace ! The is also plenty of patio surrounded by small tropical gardens. Staff is nice too and the hotel is quiet except if your room overlook the street, wall are tiny and Ticos seem to like horn, siren, song...

Dear guest, Thank you very much for taking your time to write this lovely review on TripAdvisor. We are very glad that you liked our hotel and our buffet breakfast. Aranjuez neighborhood is pretty quiet, but is near to the Calderon Guardia Hospital. Also, you are right about some of the Ticos and their horns... The Hotel Aranjuez is a...

The location is great. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to downtown. As advertised, the buffet breakfast was great. The rooms were nice and clean but, when all is said and done, it is a budget hotel. I am not complaining because I paid a budget price. Staff was great!

My husband and I stayed here for one night after our arrival from Chicago, and before departing for Manuel Antonio. It's a charming hotel, with multiple inner courtyards, lunch with plant life. We were given an apartment room - private bath, kitchenette, dining/living/bedroom area. The room was comfortable, and clean, although a bit tired- but for the inexpensive price, it...

Great location, walking distance from main gastronomic strip in Central SJ East. Friendly desk service. The hotel has a garden, luscious landscaping, various sitting areas around the garden and among the different buildings of the property. Rooms are clean, ours was a bit dark, but comfortable beds, little skimpy on the towels, bring your own toiletries. Overall fine accommodations for...

This hotel was extremely economical. It is not in the best part of town but it is located walking distance from a few nice restaurants and bars. The breakfast was my favorite thing about the hotel. They had a large spread with all the major Costa Rican dishes - Plantains, black beans with rice, tropical fruits, pickled veggies and juices....
