We stayed here on a tour of Costa Rica with a group. Our room was on the ground floor, basic and dated but the bed was comfortable. The courtyard is a nice surprise with trees and shrubs around the pool and fountain area. It really isn't that appealing from the main entrance and the lobby is very tight. The rooms...

Yes..the architecture and structure of the hotel is pretty... alternatives without necessarily meaning that this is negative. It has a small pool and it's more like "aparthotel" rather than a classic hotel. Pretty friendly staff and located in a quiet neighborhood. There is Mac Donalds almost right opposite and a local fried chicken place a few meters away. Rooms pretty...

Went here and found that it was OK. The staff, especially the front desk, was helpful and friendly. The family room was spacious, but the clock didn't work, the stoves burners were all messed up and there were cigarette burns on the couch and one of the sheets. The Wi-Fi was sometimes spotty in our room. The breakfast was not nearly...

Formerly Apartel El Sesteo, this quaint little neighborhood hotel was a favorite of ours when visiting family in The Sabana Sur area of San Jose. However, since it was sold to a Chinese chain, it has suffered a bit of neglect. The restaurant still had a delicious free breakfast, but I hated when they ran out of certain items and...

This is a strange hotel. On the plus side the room was clean and comfortable, the pool area a really nice place to hang out and the staff efficient and friendly. On the down side there is no bar, something we would have appreciated on the final night of a long trip and the hotel seems to have a rather...

I thought I was in a fancy NY hotel with all that security...Front desk was very helpful and understood English..I got a discount being a Dr. Anglada patient. Carpet looked new and hotel was in good shape. Breakfast was excellent with mixed fresh fruit and eggs were served to me cause of my chewing needs. Location was very good for...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a larger group package. Hot water was not to had nor was an adequate supply of towels. Air conditioning was not an option. I wouldn't trust the room's door to keep out a strong wind let alone someone who wanted to break into your room. There is a bonus of staying...

Visited Costa Rica for Dental services and Tourism; both were a great experience. Unfortunately, the same could not be said of our stay in El Sesteo which as others have noted has apparently gone down hill. Proven by the overall dated appearance of the property and rooms, and compounded by the poor front desk service. Added to the overall bad...

I haven't stayed here for a couple of years but before that, every year for differing periods of time. I like that it is close to Sabana Park. Lots going on there. The nearby restaurants are not great - with a couple of exceptions. If you like fast food, it is available at McDonalds. But, it is near to bus...

You know, any time your interaction includes apologizing to the receptionist for having to interrupt him to get your key to your room, it's probably downhill from there. I've stayed at this hotel several times over the years, it's proximity to Sabana park, ARCR, and other services makes it pretty convenient; but since it's been purchased (presumably by a Chinese...
