Shower broken. After a fixing, almost no water coming out of the pipe and no warm water (the hotel promotes that). After talking with the employees we went to grab a shower downstairs in a room for employees where there was a bit of warm water. Employees not really cooperative and didn't seem to really care No table in the room No window on the outside just to the hallway Sheets dirty No isolation at all thus insanely noisy

The Quinta Avenida is nothing fancy, it’s a simple hotel close to the big bus stations in San José. We didn’t expect much, but we were very happy with the friendly service, the clean room and the warm water in the shower! It can be noisy in the evenings (we stayed there as transit in the weekend), so take your earplugs for deep sleep.

Not far from the bus stop, from airport just go outside straight through there is 3 buses stop the middle one is San Jose city . The owner and his wife are very nice people the staff as well , if you need informations they will help. The room in the first floor are reasonable size equipped with shower and toilet , tv in the room. For me I would like to have a couple of hooks to suspend the clothes and a chair as well. Under the hotel there is the restaurant and bar the food is good for a reasonable pricing. Also got a pizza shop as well the price is equivalent to the restaurant meal. Across the street there is a bakery very cheap as well a supermarket situated in the callee 20 corner Avenida 2 . A walking distance to the town center .

Very noisy. The hotel is across the street fom a bus garage. The neighborhood did not seem safe. If you pay by credit be prepared for them to charge in Colones not dollars. They charge a lot extra for an airport shuttle.

This is your everyday average run of the mill hotel, cheap and quick fix for getting in and out of town. Although the room was clean the bathroom had a funky smell, it wasnt terrible or anything like that, just funky thats all but hey whose hanging out in the bathroom right. Not sure about elevator cuz i was on 2nd flr. Rooms were ok beds a lil stiff, tv was ok, fan worked ok. NO a/c. Windows only opened up to hall way of hotel to get a breeze. WIFI works great in the rooms though. Would definitely stay again IF I had to but now I know of other places so probably not, only saying I know of place with a/c down the street for $10 more. But if your looking for absolute dirt cheap and halfway decent place to stay maybe for the night cuz of early flight or bus departure than this is it. I thought the area is safe, couple lil cafes right next door and stuff. right off of calle 20, the police dept is 1 block away from the hotel. I walked from hotel all the way to central park by myself. I didnt think it was dangerous, just keep your wits dont be staring at phone, travel, walk and carry yourself like a seasoned vet. remember people are just people.
