We where traveling as a party of six and needed something to stay in San Jose for one night. Looking good on the web we booked this hotel in advance. However, the reality doesn't match their website. One thing just worth to mention is that the hotel must be close to a bus terminal. It was around 5:39 am when...

I had to spend a night in San Jose and had checked the website for this hotel. Nothing prepared me for the reality. You have to climb a set of stairs which no one warns you about, the front desk woman is rude, ignorant and unhelpful. Sent me to the upper floor another set of stairs to a dingy, dark...

I think the website is based on some ready-made template. They actually advertise on hotel door that they sell websites for 400usd. That being said, the pictures have nothing to do with San Jose or this hotel. As I write this review sitting on this filthy bed of this hotel, can't say much good. We paid 30usd for one night...

My husband and I needed a place to stay for one night in San Jose and made a reservation on-line ahead of time. The web site looked nice, so that was the draw. When we showed up there was a person rummaging through the garbage on the front step and a comradre was going on at the bar across the...

First very nice lady at the desk but she speaks spanish only, second nice website. The real story is how extremely dangerous it is at night and how decrepit and smelly the beds are. Sorry Bernardo but the beds are the worst in many many many years of budget travel I have done. I can't believe I don't have any...

"Hotel Capital, the best location in San Jose!" Perhaps during the daytime but do not go out alone at night. During the day you are right in the center of San Jose. About 2 blocks from the pedestrian street Avenida Central and about 3 blocks fron the Mercardo Central. Right where you want to be in SJ. After 7 or...

The website looks good and I was pretty shocked to see that this place was not what we thought it would be..... The rooms were not the best of rooms, we had no windows in our rooms, the shower made lots of noise from the plumbing that needs to be redone. The orthopedic mattresses they claim to have were a...

My husband and I just needed a cheap place to stay for one night before heading out of San Jose, so we booked Hotel Capital. Owner was very kind, offered tips for safety and had tourist information available. The accommodations were pretty bleak, and I'm sorry to say that everything smelled bad. Many items of mine soaked up the smell...

We needed a place to stay for one night in San Jose. We looked at the website and thought the pictures looked good. We arrived and we were shocked. It was dirty and smelled terrible. We all slept in long sleeve shirts and pants...on top of the sheets. The woman at the desk did not speak English however was very...

The best of Hotel Capital is that it is situated in San Jose downtown, just one street away from the National Bank (Banco Nacional) where you can find good rates for money exchange, there's around shops, farmacies, restaurants, etc. very handy indeed. Owner Bernardo Escobar was very kind and helpful with all the required touristic information/advice/bookings for San Jose and...
