Detailed Reviews
This hotel is located within 20 minutes of the airport (depending on traffic). It has great climate control. The staff are kind and helpful. A restaurant is attached with wonderful food and they offer a 20 % discount for hotel guests, but the food is already reasonably priced.

This cute boutique hotel is located in an excellent location close by La Sabana and Centro Colon area. The property it's very good maintained and the decoration is a plus. Staff is friendly and very helpful all the time, always trying to please the guests. They made me feel like being at home.
I have to mention the front desk personnel were very nice all the time. During my check in, the General Manager in person (Mr. Andrés Guzmán) took care of myself and accommodated me in my room.
At nights the person who works night shift was very helpful opening the gate for me to park my car in the parkin lot.
Thanks all you guys, the next time I visit Costa Rica definitely I will stay with you again.

Very nice hotel located in a nice block that has very nice architectural buildings. Rooms are comfortable with firm excellent beds. Clean, air conditioned and windows with beautiful views. Hot water for shower!. Breakfast very good. Beautiful thought provoking paintings and artifacts all around the lobby and dining area. Staff very helpful, took the time to acquaint us with the best restaurants and sights to see. It has its own transportation that we can hire though for a higher price, which we did because it was safer.
Would go back to this hotel again.

The room was a bit small and the lighting could be improved but overall the room was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and stayed hot. The beds and sheets were comfortable and the room service food was good and decent, nothing mindblowing. Overall I have nothing bad to say about this hotel but nothing extraordinary either. There isn't much nightlife where we were, not many people on the streets at all but there are a few restaurants within 5 minutes of walking so that was nice

The owners have obviously made a very good effort at developing this building into a nice little hotel, but they made a few choices that are very poor, yet easily remedied. First the good... The hotel is very clean. Everything seemed to work well, though the AC in my room was very noisy. The beds and pillows quite comfortable. The bathroom was very small but perfectly fine. Had a large flat screen TV and a nice view from the 4th floor. All desk persons were very nice. I did not try the restaurant. Two small issues are the safe and the lift are from around 1940. The safe is an old key type that is mounted to the floor in the closet (see pic). The key didn't bother me too much, but the floor? Seriously?? And the lift is actually fast and works well if no one else is using it. It's tiny with 4 manual push buttons and no indicators at all. But in their defense, it's a small hotel and a modern lift would be costly. Personally, I find it acceptable, but some will not. Now the three issues I hated (two are ridiculous)... First there is no fridge, even though there was a perfect area in my tiny room for one (table pic). Second, there was no tissue in the room. Third, and the worst, there is no normal toilet paper! They installed those horrid sheet dispensers found occasionally in public restrooms (see last pic). Again, seriously?? I had to go out to buy my own tissue and toilet paper! Ownership made a conscious choice to use those dispensers and not provide tissue, and I found that beyond ridiculous. I REALLY wanted to rate 4 bubbles, but simply cannot because of the toilet paper idiocy. If they choose to provide normal necessities in the future, then I would highly recommend this hotel.

The third floor room was roomy and well maintained. The large windows provided a bright feel with shades for privacy. The room could use a more comfortable chair and a room safe at eye level instead one that is bolted to the floor. Bathroom is equally roomy and well maintained. There is a restaurant on site for breakfast and dining - all good. There are also some local restaurants nearby. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The main street, Central Ave, is a block away with its many shops and a 20 minute walk to the center of the city. A supermarket / dept store is a few blocks away. Overall, good value

I came down here, never having visited the country before. I picked this hotel because of its "boutique" status; I like boutique hotels.
I'm never staying in a place other than this - it was wonderful! The rooms are kept clean every day, the staff is pleasant and helpful, and the location of the park and the art museum can't be beaten.
In addition, the restaurant in the hotel is fabulous and is a requested hangout for San Jose's young professional crowd, so you know it has to be good.
A special shout out to the cleaning crew who kept my room spotless and well-stocked every day, Mauricio and the restaurant crew who jumped to accommodate me when I ate there, and the friendly management team who obviously know what they were doing!
Thank you to the wonderful staff and I'll be seeing you guys again soon - guaranteed.

I stayed here as part of an Overseas Adventure Travel tour of CR. I came 2 nights early, and had a very small room (bathroom was incredibly small). Room was on third floor (left after exiting the elevator). Bed was comfortable king size, wifi strong, and good air conditioning. I left for 3 nights at Drake Bay, before returning for 1 night. This second room, on the 2nd floor, was huge - with a little kitchenette. Again, comfortable bed, quiet, large bathroom, and good air conditioning. The last night at the end of the tour was room 314. Large room with a small kitchenette… but paper thin walls with the adjoining room. I only needed the room for 10 hours as my return home flight was to leave at 1am. Unfortunately the adjoining room had 3 very loud women who had returned from a shopping trip to Panama and had to call each of their relatives on their speaker phone… so no sleep before my flight.
Breakfast was traditional CR (scrambled eggs, rice & beans, some type of meat (differed each day), and a small bowl of fresh fruit. This hotel does not have COVID requirements, so i had breakfast outside on their terrace in the parking lot. The first two days, they brought me the meal. The second, breakfast was a buffet, so i took outside. The third visit, i didnt have breakfast.
The front desk workers were polite but did not go out of the way to be helpful.

We had a wonderful 2 day stay. The room was plenty big, view was nice, my wife loved the bed and pillows, and she is picky. The rain shower had sufficient pressure (doesn't always happen in Costa Rica) and the hand held showerhead was a wonderful addition. The restaurant food was absolutely delicious and quite reasonable. The girl who checked us in was very nice and helpful, as was the girl in the restaurant. We intend to stay again in the future.

This hotel is probably adequate for a short overnight. Four floors with one small, slow elevator. Breakfast was chaos on the one day that I tried to eat, as there were no clean tables and barely any food. Our first night our bed was maybe a double--pretty small. Clean. Close to a very good restaurant, Aqui Es. The only good area to sit and have a beer is at the entrance, outside. A great alternative at a lesser cost is Hotel Autentico, about three blocks away.

Dear Maria.
Thank you for being interested in our hotel. Is a pleasure to help you. Unfortunately we have no pool and no gym, but we do have 2 exercises machines (running and multifunctional) on rooms floor for our guests.
Hope this answer your question.
It is far better to get a taxi, far more reliable and not very expensive. Most hotels have contracts with taxi firms and usually quote a fixed fare. Check with your hotel reception.
We asked our hotel to provide us with a taxi upon our arrival and our departure. Pleased with the service and fare both ways.
We arrived very late as well and checked in close to 11PM. -I did contact the hotel and they ensured our late arrival was acceptable and could accommodate. -Definitely contact them and confirm!
We also arrived late in the evening. Check in was no problem.
