We arrived in Barrow Alaska ( 1200 miles from the North Pole) after a two hour flight from Anchorage. Barrow is the seat of government of the North Slope Borough. I was hoping this wasn’t a 6 seater plane trip but luckily it was a combi aircraft ( 1/3rd passengers and 2/3rds air cargo.) First class mail arrives and leaves...

I came to Barrow for only 24 hrs on a business trip, and was so pleasantly surprised by the Top of the World hotel! From the minute I walked off the plane and Reba was waiting for guests to shuttle to the hotel to the minute she dropped me off at the airport the next day, I couldn't have asked...

I had always wanted to visit the Arctic and Barrow in particular. Staying at the Top of the World made the experience fantastic and one I will never forget. To be right on the beach and be able to go out and take a "Polar Berar Plunge" was an incredible experience and the staff couldn't have been nicer! The gift...

It goes without saying that I didnt expect any good sort of amenities in Barrow. But this hotel exceeded all expectations! Its clean, upscale, good restaurant and has a kitchenette as well. Barrow is a small area and you can see the whole place in less than 3 hours...and its nice to come back to the hotel and relax.

I sure didnt expect such a nice room up here. Have stayed in several villages in Alaska but this is a top notch, new hotel with up to date rooms and comfortable beds. Now I must type extra stuff in here before TripAdvisor will let me post, so, blah, blah and blah.

Barrow is pretty remote, which makes this hotel seem more luxurious by comparison. The room that I had was excellent- good view, warm and clean beds, and was a good place to relax from all of the walking I did! The hotel has an airport shuttle for overnighters and for people taking the tour they offer. FUI - the tour...

My first trip to Barrow was hosted by this hotel, including its in-house restaurant, Niġġivikput, and its summer day tour. We spent one night, touring on the day our flight left. For anyone who is unprepared for an arctic desert climate zone, I urge you to consider the terrain upon which Barrow is rooted. Do not judge it harshly when...

Barrow is pretty stark - some would say bleak- so you need a nice, comfy place to come back to where you can rest comfortably after a day of exploration. The Top of the World Hotel is only two years old (build on a new location after a fire damaged the old building), so everything is fairly new. Rooms are...

Given the remoteness, i was beyond surprised to see the quality of the hotel's amenities - a small, but functional, gym, kitchenette, decent Wifi. I could go on. And the place is clean. You cannot go wrong. But, above all of this, I found the warmth and the professionalism of the staff to be the most impressive feature - from...
