We decided to drive the old Denali Highway which ended up being one of the best decisions! We were thrilled to run across this lodge after a few hours of driving and gawking at the views. The women that were working were so friendly and personable. We ended up stopping in for a quick bite to eat. Wished we had... More

Alpine Creek Lodge – August 2016 When we decided to go to Alaska for our 25th Anniversary I started the process of sorting thru all the different opportunities, a cruise, train, a fly-in lodge; the list was endless; we really didn’t want to do a cruise but we did want to do the train and also wanted to fish in... God Bless the good folks at Alpine Creek Lodge. Riding our bikes on the Denali Highway (120 miles of graded, gravel road) was a lot of work. When we arrived at the Alpine Creek Lodge, we were welcomed like family, provided with a delicious, hot meal (thank you, Chrissy), hot showers, wi-fi, a comfortable sitting room and good bed. Everyone... More

We arrived on our bikes tired and hungry and despite being after the kitchen was closed, they whipped up burgers and Mac and cheese for us. The rooms were clean and cozy. The staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us get ready for the next day of riding, finding us air... More

We took a day trip along the Denali Highway and stopped here for lunch. The lodge is just what I think of when I think of a remote Alaskan lodge. As for the food it was good and the burgers looked great. Two of the youth took the time to introduce themselves and talk with us, which was the highlight... More

First off thanks to , Jennifer, Claude Patti and Christy for making our stay really incredible. They went out of their way to make sure my dietary needs were met as a vegan. My family and I stopped here during our drive of the Denali Highway from Cantwell to Paxson. It was cloudy, rainy, and cold that day and just the thought of hot coffee and warm tea was comforting. The Alpine Creek Lodge was sooo much better than just that though. The place was filled with warmth from a fire, friendly people,... More

We stayed at Alpine Creek Lodge over night in the spring snow. Mid-March, temps were 24F during the day, 3F at night. We stayed in the lodge rather than the cabins and it was toasty warm. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a wilderness lodge in remote Alaska. We are open year round, every day. Alpine Creek Lodge is on the Denali Highway, so travelers can get there in the summer via a gravel road. 68 miles West of Paxson Alaska, and 67 miles East of Cantwell, Alaska. In the summer, we offer hiking tours, photography tours, wildlife viewing tours, gold panning tours, fishing tours and much more! Fully guided, or you can do it yourself! In the winter, the road is not plowed from October 15th to May 15th. During this period, snow machine, dog mushing, skiing, etc are the only way to get to us. Drop off and pick up are available in Cantwell, Alaska via snow machine or tracked vehicle. We are on the South side of the Alaska Range, in the Clearwater Mountains, and this is where you will find real Alaska! Jennifer Bondy ... more   less
