First, the good parts: Emma (the owner) and Robatine (staff) are both very friendly and helpful. They'll help you arrange excursions, car rental, ordering dinner etc. They'll do your laundry! Emma will pick you up and drive you to the airport right on time. She's also very responsive to email inquiries (in French only!). Robatine speaks some English. The bungalows... More

From a referral, we biked to Pension Opeha to rent kayaks for the day. We were told that was not a problem and that we could pay when we got back. Our goal was to kayak the river. When we were nearly 1/2 way there (about 1 hour worth of hard kayaking), a speedboat came by and DEMANDED we returned... More

Stayed 3 nights here in January 2014. We got picked up at the airport, on time. The pension is not near the main village, around 10/15 mins car ride. After 9pm, they lock the main garage door, because the owners don’t stay here. There are 5 bungalows. Inside and outside the bungalows look new and clean. Our bungalow was simple,... More

Bit of a mix up with our booking and no pick up waiting but this was quickly solved and we were soon settled in. The bungalows are well done and comfortable. They do a trip from their jetty to Tahaa but the weather wasn't great so we decided not to go in the morning and explored the island instead. Tuhiata... More

Kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Raiatea. The best of times was being on Raiatea… I had the opportunity to travel to Tahiti for an arts forum with my University from Aotearoa, New Zealand. One of the main reasons for taking the trip was the opportunity to travel to one of the spiritual homelands of Māori... More

Let's be honest : you don't go to Opeha for the swimming pool (there is none) or for the luxury amenities or for perfect candlelight diners...you go there cause value for money is good, and it is. The bungalows are OK, well equipped for those who want to cook their own meals. You have direct access to the ocean, and... More

I can't say enough good things about our experience here. The bungalows were immaculate and the owners were kind and accommodating. Of course the views were magnificent. We stayed in several resorts on other islands, but nowhere did we have a better experience. The boat excursions offered by the owners are quite reasonable and enjoyable. An outing to one of the... Our bungalow was immaculate, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was rather generous and of an exceptional quality. The owner organized a very nice boat tour for us, which included a trip up a river, a visit to an archaeological site, and a picnic on a motu. It was an excellent overview of the island. Compared... Pension Opeha is not an Intercontinental-style resort. It does not have a pool, a restaurant or a bar. But if you are looking for an amazing value and a delightful experience at a small family-run property, Pension Opeha is the right place. My group of friends and I stayed at Pension Opeha for a total of five days - two... More

Our 8 night stay at Pension Opeha is unforgettable. Emma, the manager/owner is very friendly and generous. The bungalows are well-equipped and clean, and had free wi-fi. The view from our window was magical. We let the curtain drawn so we could wake up to the sunrise on the motu. Breakfast was excellent and copious.
