Detailed Reviews
Highly recommended if you want a certain and confirmed booking for some scooters around Aitutaki which is a must in our view as they are such good fun. We booked them well in advanced as they can be in high demand during the busy periods. Alone was amazing with keeping us up to date and communicating the confirmed dates, such a pleasure to meet in person. We needed the scooters for a bit longer than we were expecting and Rino accommodated us. They even delivered the scooters to the resort for us - awesome customer service and cannot ask for more - Meitaki Ma'ata. (Brent & Kelly)

For a budget motel this is great value: airport pick up, serviced apartment, great bathroom, breakfast!
While the beach does not quite match any brochure it is ok and affords a view of the reef, ships and diggers.
The motel is close ish to other restaurants and the town, the bed is comfortable and there is aircon (basic). Some lights are a bit odd.
People are friendly and helpful.

Loved it! This must be the top value for money on Aitutaki. We had one of the best sea views of all, better than many much more expensive places. Ani and Alone were wonderful, looking after us so well and even returned a charging cable I carelessly left behind. Our room was tidied every day and breakfast was waiting for us when we got up.

I stayed at Rino’s in August, 2019. I paid one night’s reservation beforehand. At Rino’s I paid an additional $431.20. Months later, I checked my records. I had overpaid $238.83. I contacted Rino’s and provided the documentation. Jenny confirmed the overpayment and said my card would be reimbursed. It wasn’t. I have multiple emails from Rino’s promising repayment but none was ever made. Rino’s then began to ignore my requests for a status/reimbursement. When I finally sent an email, after over a month of being ignored, that I would review Rino’s, I received a prompt response from Jenny that I would be reimbursed and could I wait two weeks. I agreed. Well, its been well over two weeks with no refund and my emails are again being ignored. In addition, a woman I met on the flight over had been promised a room with an ocean view. She was given a dreary room with no view. Instead of reducing her bill for the lesser room, all they would do was give her a “free” day of scooter rental. The place itself was outdated and mediocre at best. The deck furniture had a wasp’s nest and I was stung twice before I found it and had it sprayed.

Where do I start...
My family and I stayed at Rino's for two weeks but changed our flights to leave two days early because of the discomfort of staying somewhere that made us feel unwelcomed.
Firstly the staff were rude, generally unwilling to help and tried to overcharge us for certain services that were already included and paid for.
The rooms had cockroaches in them and did not have the required bedding arrangements in place that had been promised and paid for which was very inconvenient with young children to organise, we also hired a car through Rino's which was filthy on the inside, stank, and was unserviced. Staff were unapologetic and despite the place being almost empty there was no offer of an upgrade to a better room. There was no hot water during the last week there. I strongly regret staying there and would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone who seeks to stay somewhere with good service and value for money.

+1
It is hard to find the ideal place to stay on Aitutaki. At the lagoon end ( Ootu ), it is very scenic, but also very windy at this time of year ( June / July ), and there are no grocery shops. We looked at Paradise Cove and Tamanu Beach, they are more sheltered but they are also quite isolated, with no nearby shops. Pacific Resort is probably in the best location but the price is way beyond our budget. So we chose Rino's, which is on the sheltered side of the Island, handy to several grocery shops, three takeaways, and 10 - 15 minutes walk to Pacific Resort with it's two restaurants.
Prices here are very reasonable - we had 2 "Lagoon View" Rooms at approx $150.00 / night for 2 people, and One Deluxe Bungalow at approx $200.00 / night for 2 people. All of these rooms are massive, with dining tables, sofas, chairs and all have a massive wooden deck with chairs, table, lounger and a day bed. The Delux Beachfront Rooms are right on the beach facing west, so we spent 6 evenings sitting on our deck watching the fish jumping and watching some stunning sunsets - it would be hard to find a better setting ! The other difference was that the Delux Rooms have a small TV and are air-conditioned. Sure the rooms are a bit older and some of the decking is a bit old and creaky, but we very very happy with the rooms, beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms and showers were double the size of the ones at Edgewater where we spent the previous week. The room prices include return transfers from the Airport, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Rino himself must be in his Eighty's, but there is not much he doesn't know about the local food, restaurants, walking tracks and attractions. He usually comes to the airport himself to present you with a Lei, and he was there when we left to farewell us. His daughter runs the Office, but this closes early ( around 3.00pm ), but after 3.00pm it is usually quite easy to find Rino himself sitting outside, or at his Rental Car business directly over the road.
The room price also includes a basic continental breakfast, consisting of Fruit Juice, Coffee, Toast and Jam, 2 or 3 Cereals and some local Fruit. There is a WiFi Hotspot at Judan's Grocery shop which is right across the road next to Rinos Rentals. The cost is $50.00 for 1000MB ( same as Edgewater ), but the Hotspot has quite limited range, most of us could not access it from our Rooms, so we usually sit on the chairs / tables outside Judans to catch up on news, Emails etc. There are a few loungers on the beach outside Rinos where you can sit and watch the Hermit Crabs scuttling by, and the water is swimmable, but it is not crystal clear because it is quite close to the wharf / harbour. We walked along the beach for approx 10 minutes to a lovely area almost outside the Pacific Resort where the water is Crystal Clear and OK for swimming and snorkelling. We stayed for 6 days - on two days we did hire a car from Rino and drove around to the Lagoon for a Cruise to the outer Islands, and to check out the Boatshed Restaurant. Price was $70.00 for 24 hours.
We really enjoyed our 6 days here and hope to return one day.

Rino's was our chosen accommodation to spend time away from the frantic pace/lifestyle my sister and I lead in Rarotonga. Perfect choice to an all round holiday. Took an extended weekend - departed on Saturday morning - returned home to Rarotonga on Tuesday afternnon. From the moment we were greeted at Aitutaki by Rino himself - a beaming smile and a cheery "Welcome Home" we knew we were among family and friends. Rino upgraded us to bechfront upon arrival - stunning setting, and a spacious clean, comfortable, fully self-contained unit. A full sized fridge/freezer in each unit to keep all our food/drinks frozen and chilled. Our air con 4wd was cleaned, ready and waiting by Allan. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and staff. Daily room cleaning and change of all linen. Met several other guests while lazing on Rinos beachfront - ironically all English people who have returned or are first time visitors to this special spot in the S. Pacific. The property was extremely quiet, safe, well managed, immaculate surroundings. Nice tranquil beach - but shallow for swimming. Very convenient to local stores, town, banks, takeaways, restaurants. Still we had our hire vehicle, and took a private lagoon cruise to the lagoon destinations we are attracted to. Not far to drive home too after an enjoyable night out at Tupuna's cafe, Blue Nun & Fishing Club. Thanks Rino, Allan, Ngatere and staff. We'll be back for some more R & R this time next year. Kia Manuia.

We had a wonderful stay at this motel. We even extended our stay and changed flights ! Nothing was a problem .... The owners helped us finding and booking day trips and evening entertainment. We were helped to change flights got new details printed ... The service at rinos was excellent. As they also own a car/moped rental we were able to hire with special rates ... We will certainly go and stay again. The bungalow was clean with lovely views. We stayed for 10 days in the end because we did not want to leave !!! Breakfast is simple but given the fact that you are in a lovely budget hotel this is what one expects! Cooked breakfasts can be provided for an extra charge I believe. The bungalow is central on the island with lovely views and very quiet just what we needed. I can highly recommend this beautiful well run hotel. We all loved our stay and we will certainly go back!!!!

We have booked via an agency and Rino's was the cheapest option we could get. We have been very positive surprised when we arrived.
We have had a huge bungalow (good for 4, we are just 2). Everything was clean and you get room service every day if you want to. We got a basket with tropical fruits to welcome us. Tea, coffee and sugar have been provided for free! (We had to move to a higher priced resort later on and nothing of this was provided in this one!)
We could see the beach from our terrace even though we had a garden bungalow. We have paid $40 p.P. which seemed to be a good deal for the island and what you get.
We wanted to extend our stay but it was not possible. We had to move to another place as booked previously via the agency. The reason was that the agency had told us that we could not swim infront of Rino's. This was not correct! Swimming is not great at most parts of the island as it is too shallow. However, there is a smaller deeper part where you can swim at Rino's beach. They also have a paddle-boat that you can take for free to go around.
We loved the location as stores, take-aways and some places of interests such as harbor, market or church are close by. This is convenient for budget travelers as otherwise you would need to rent a scooter to get around which can get expensive.
Bungalows have a kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils. The kitchen looks a little bit old though but it works.
The owners have been really nice and helpful. We have been sad that we had to leave after 2 nights.

I didn't choose Rino's but was booked in through my job. However, no complaints!! I was surprised they serviced my room daily as I wasn't expecting it. Rino is very helpful and cheerful- nothing is too much to ask. Ask him for advice on anything.
I stayed in Room 5 and think it's possibly the best room (after the honeymoon suite). It has clear glass sliding door with fly screen to the lagoon view whereas room 6 and 7 have aircon but no clear glass for the view and no fly screen. There is a ceiling fan and portable fan- more than adequate. It has a King bed and single bed, dining table, couch and the covered balcony also has a dining table with view to lagoon and a comfy day bed. It has a stove top and enough pots etc to cook meals, full fridge/freezer. There was always hot water with decent water pressure.
Nice touches are the fruit basket- great for brekkie, and the fresh flowers. Check out Rino's wife's greenhouse- great plants!
You can walk into town- Rino also has rental cars and scooters- not the top of the range but more than adequate. It's best to catch the market early in the morning. There is also a woman that sells free range eggs (only by the dozen) a few doors down. Bring supplies from Rarotonga otherwise especially alcohol and other food you might need as limited and expensive to buy in Aitutaki. Room 5 also has WIFI hotspot available. You can purchase extra wifi time in town at Telecom.
I didn't swim there as didn't have a chance to, but at the end of the old runway.
There are lots of other nicer/flasher resorts around but if you need value for money, this is the place. You can visit the flash places for a drink or meal.
