When we arrived no one was there to welcome us, only a post-it on the front door asking to put the payment into the safety box. The private room we booked wasn't private at all, since we had to go through the dormitory to get to the room. The hostel provides the possibility of a 5 dollar shower for not...

Giulia, We are sorry to hear about your recent experience at Alyeska Hostel. Your feedback is important to us. Regarding the rooms cleanliness, we are disappointed to learn that your room was not cleaned properly prior to your stay. My apologies. The owner was very kind & accommodating. I booked my stay here extremely last minute (the day of) and she made it a breeze. I really enjoyed the location of this hostel, as it was tucked away on a dirt road in Girdwood. It made for a cozy stay! I would certainly come here again.

My friend and I stayed in the private room for 7 nights while we went skiing and snowboarding on the hill and really enjoyed the stay. The hostel is clean, communal showers and living area with kitchen and appliances were all perfect. Jakki made the stay 100 times more enjoyable taking us to see the portage glacier and to a...

We were the first over nighters for the new studio- Would recommend adding a hair dryer and toaster. Reservations can be 1 night- hard to find in Girdwood. Need to drive to slope, ski trails and restaurants. Nice walk in evening. Church nearby w a female pastor- fun plus to stay. Price seems a bit high-

Little hard to find with the road construction but just fools the road on back. We showed up at 1 am and left by 9, so all I can comment on is it was a beautiful place, wish we had time to ride the lift up and eat on top of the mountain. Watch for bears in the parking lot,...

My cousin and I stayed in Alyeska Hostel for one night, and we really liked it. The caretaker, Jakki, was extremely helpful and sweet. She told us a lot about Girdwood and Alaska in general. The hostel is clean and comfortable. We stayed in the private loft. The beds were made up for us and were very comfortable. The bathrooms...

A clean, comfortable and well appointed hostel. It was our first visit to such an establishment and we were pleasantly surprised. The mattress in the upper room was on the floor and the other beds were bunks. Pillows were wimpy. A dollar is charged for a towel. The common area was comfortable. More games or some cards would have been...

We are loving this place. Every staff member is happy, attentive and will go out of their way for you - every staff member we spoke with was happy to share their knowledge and their own experiences - and all so very positive. The rooms are large and comfortable, with great mountain views. The breakfast is a good spread of...

My wife and I spent that night here, and had a great time (Summer). We did one of the romance packages that included tram tickets and breakfast vouchers. The rooms were nice, and the food was good (albeit a little on the expensive side, but when it's the only place in town...). We did it as a stop over between...

“The private room has 2 double? Beds on the floor and such low ceiling that you have to crawl into and out of bed. Can only stand up at the 1/4 of the room at the foot of the bed. Cottage very small but seemed nice although it was simple to jimmy the door and get in despite it being locked. There is also a room with bunks.”
