This motel offered us a great stay, and works well in the times of COVID with everyone having their own outdoor entry point to their room. It is a bit pricey, but that is driven by the ability to get to the National Park in 15-20 minutes drive. You definitely should do your homework and make sure you have a car or tour prepared to get into the park. The room itself is a basic motel room, but has everything needed, with TV and internet that seemed to work fine. I would say it felt a notch higher in terms of being well-maintained, especially compared to a traditional motel. Not sure if they offered any breakfast, as we had stuff to nibble on along with early plans each day, but they did have tea and similar things in the lobby. The best aspect of this motel is its proximity to the 49th State Brewing location that is in Healy. The food and beer are great there, and it seems to be less touristy (though still busy) than whatever is going on in the Denali Park town by the park. Consider reservations for it during busier times, but it is a short drive down the street. This place served its job (at a higher price given it is relatively close to the NP), and allowed us to get a restful night's sleep, so would definitely recommend it if you have the car to get around in.…
We found this after having our Mile92 Kantishna excursion cancelled. These are spacious rooms, fridge, microwave, clean, somewhat dated carpet, lots of hot water, quiet. Front desk was helpful about places to eat. There is a grocery nearby. GOOD VALUE if you have a car. 10 minute ride to the park. FIRM mattresses. Quiet Wifi in this part of ALaska is slow but this hotel had decent wifi in your room, Motel converted to hotel, car parked right outside your room=easy luggage/cooler access. There are resident moose on the property but we did not see them. Kids would love the train theme throughout
It is a nice, quiet, clean, and affordable hotel for Denali. No, it is not a Four Seasons or a Ritz Carlton-but do you really want to stay ate such a hotel when the attraction is the beauty of nature? it is what one needs in the heart of Alaska.
Denali is very limiting when you don’t have your own vehicle. Uber, Lyft and any public transportation is non existence. The Denali park hotel is out of the way and does not offer transportation. The lady at the desk was rude as she swept out squirrels From the lobby. We chose to go to another place that offered a shuttle rather than get stuck there. She would not refund our reservations even though we were there 2 hrs before check in and didn’t bring our luggage into the lobby. If you do not have transportation DO NOT go to the Denali park hotel. Even if u have transportation there are several other hotels that offer much more than this one for it’s equal value.
The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable enough. The office staff were friendly. The motel is dated but for a motor inn, it was nice. Compared to where we stayed the next night, very nice. It seems over priced but everything in Denali is. I would stay here again. Get a beer and food at the 49th brewery. Very good.
