We stayed in the Guest House Cabin mid-August. If you stay in this cabin, we warned the loft has very steep stairs that I would consider on the verge of dangerous. That being said, the cabin was nice and clean. Getting there was easy, but the finding where to check in was not so easy. We tried to call an hour before check in just to verify exactly where to go and had to leave a message. When check in time came and we still had no call back we drove around until we say a sign that said check in with an arrow, but it did not look like it was an office, but a home or another guest cabin. I called again and got in touch with someone, I think one of the teenage kids (who was very nice), but who couldn't really give me good directions either. I ended up having to call back and he just met us outside. Other than that frustration, the stay was nice. The deck has great views as well.

We stayed in the Aspen View cabin. The owner really tried to work with us to accommodate our stay. It is on the edge of town, out of the hub, which we like. Very quiet place. The cabin is nestled in the woods with a nice view out in the more open area. We like the feeling of being more isolated. Yet it is only about a 5 minute drive to the businesses of Healy. So a great location. The cabin was very clean and well furnished. The little kitchenette has a microwave, fridge, and a plug-in burner. Utensils, dishes, and linens provided. All very clean. The kitchenette layout is not exceptionally workable. The fridge opens to the wall and the microwave is at 90 degrees and opens away from the use. Still, it certainly worked well enough for us. The mirror was way too high (I could barely see my forehead). But the rest of the cabin is well laid out and efficient and we would definitely stay here again. We recommend this place. Overall a very good experience. One warning though, there is no street sign for Hilltop Road off Otto Rd. Our plane was delayed and we arrived in the middle of the night. It was very dark with no street lights in that area and we looked and looked for Hilltop Road to no avail. So note – this street is immediately after the Black Diamond Resort. It doesn’t look like a street, just looks like a driveway. Once we found it the first time it is easy to get there again. And we enjoyed our time at the cabin. So persevere!

I like to support small, family-owned businesses and this is certainly that. There’s what I assume is the owner’s house with several small cabins surrounding it. Also a scenic lookout, fire pit, and sauna. But unfortunately I can’t endorse this business. The cabin we stayed in, Willow, is cute. Bigger than a hotel room, except for the shower, which is tiny. You won’t shave your legs here; you will desperately try to avoid the bacteria-laden shower curtain. Willow needs maintenance and a deep cleaning. The microwave and mini fridge were dirty, the toaster was extremely dirty (unusable), the faucets were grungy, there were dead bugs scattered about, and SOMEONE ELSE’S COFFEE WAS STILL IN THE POT. A goldfish cracker was on the floor by a bed, which prompted me to look under the beds, where I found unwrapped candy pieces, a hat, and what appeared to be a dog chew. The shelf holding dishes hangs at a precarious angle. The toilet seat needs to be replaced. Several outlets didn’t work and neither did the promised Wi-Fi. A couple other things to note: The cabins are on a road with an extremely rutted hill. If you enter the road from that side (coming from the north), just know that a car might not make it. You’d be okay entering the road in a car from the south. Also, we stayed three nights and never saw the owners, only a teenager who checked us in and seemed busy about the place. He also answered the phone at night when we called about the Wi-Fi. While I appreciate privacy, it was an odd experience. The location was good for going to Denali National Park, and there’s a grocery store, gas stations, and a few restaurants nearby. Also there’s a beautiful, public lake and small playground on the same road as the cabins. I thought a lot before posting this review and decided to do it because I would want to know these things from other travelers. I recommend the location but I cannot recommend this business.

Room Tip: The cabins are isolated. Don’t worry when your GPS tells you to go somewhere that looks like...

This cabin is about 20 minutes away from Denali and so was quite convenient to the park. It was in a wilderness type setting. Had a small kitchen, living room, two upstairs bedrooms and one downstairs bathroom. Also featured a large deck where you could enjoy the great outdoors. Cabin was clean and relatively well maintained. Very comfortable for our purposes. Owners lived across the road. Did our check in and out by phone, but they were available if we neededed something.

Cabin was dirty. There was old food under the sofa when we checked in, shower curtain needed replacing, a strange bad smell near the bathroom. Some of the dishes and silverware were still dirty as well. We reached out to the owners twice, they never responded. No instructions for what to do with garbage, no extra garbage bags. Dregs of dishwashing soap in two different bottles. Great location and nice space, but needs work and updating.
