Stayed here a couple of nights, had a real old time feel to it including climbing 2 flights of stairs with a 50lb suitcase. This old place creaks and groans as you walk around and the walls don't hold any sound back. Bed was comfortable and there was a good ensuite attached to the room. Very reasonably priced and well...

In 1975, the first place I stayed when I got to Juneau from Haines was the Alaskan Hotel - but on my recent extended stay of many months, I had a bathroom in my room! The baseboard heater didn't work, but they immediately brought a portable oil radiator heater that worked well. The bed was soft, and the tv was...

My boyfriend and I just moved out of the Alaskan Hotel after 8 1/2 lovely months. Our room had a kitchenette with full-size fridge, stove, oven, microwave and sink. We had our own bathroom. There are laundry facilities on the 3rd floor; there are cable tv and free wifi. The place has a very laid back atmosphere and yet, whenever...

100 year old hotel. Some rooms with private bath. Others with shared bath. I sprung for the $10 per night for my own bathroom. Stayed for 5 nights. Desk staff are just wonderful people. (say HI to Michelle.) Refrigerator in room, cable TV, but no chair. Smallish room because hotel is old. Be prepared for an old hotel. Inside and...

Save yourself the trouble, money and pain! I don't usually write bad reviews (I usually give people and companies the benefit of the doubt or chalk it up to having a bad day) but am doing this to prevent anyone and everyone I can from having to go through the headache and trouble I went through. I stayed at the...

Thank you for alerting me to two major issues at the Alaskan Hotel. The first was the presence of bed bugs in your room. We immediately stripped the room of all linens and curtains and washed them off premises. At the same time we had the room fumigated. Again in 3 weeks we had it fumigated once more to catch...

I'm visiting relatives in Juneau and am so pleased with Alaska Hotel. It is in the heart of historic downtown. Many places to walk to right outside the front door. The people are so nice. Every encounter has been pleasant and accommodating. (Help with window [I'm such a wimp.], directions, registration [I went in the wrong door]) The housekeeper gave...

This is a horrible hotel! We read a lot of reviews about this place prior to booking. We had a pretty good idea what we were to expect. We can tolerate a lot when it comes to hotels. This one is unacceptable! We knew we were going to be on the third floor. No problem. The whole hotel smells dank....

Thank you for your review. I am so happy that my staff were friendly. We are the oldest operating hotel in Alaska and so it is a constant challenge keeping it repair. We are constantly upgrading the rooms and the hotel at large. I hope that you come back and see the "after" picture. Thank you again, Bettye Adams

We booked this place because it was inexpensive. After reading reviews, we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into. We found this place to be very traditional (old brothel!!). The live music in the bar was great. The atmosphere seemed like that of an old hotel and bar in the mining days. The rooms could use some updating, but...

I considered this place in Juneau because I was writing some assignments on the area for travel websites. I can overlook minor issues with hotels, but not rude staff. There is no need for it. I walked in and was glancing around the lobby and restaurant area. The woman behind the desk gave me a weird look, so I casually...

Thank you for your information. There is no excuse for rudeness. I talked this matter over with the desk clerk in question and she is actively working on being more friendly The only thing that I could say is that it was the end of the season and dozens of cruise ship tourist ask every day if we are an...

We stayed in the Alaska Hotel 3 nights in room 311. If you can't do stairs, this hotel is not for you. We were on the 3rd floor so we had plenty of stairs. Once we unlocked the door to our room, we had more steps and arrived in a "suite". One double bed and 1 loft bed. There was...
