As others have said there is no where else like this and it is definitely not for everyone - which is what makes Munsey's so perfect. Mike and Robin welcome small groups to their isolated home and share with you all that is beautiful and awe inspiring about Kodiak Island. My dream has always been to get close to bears...

Rustic camp atmosphere fitting to the goal of viewing Kodiak Bears up close and intimately. Uyak Bay is a world of its own. Mike and Robin will make you feel at home. They are both very knowledgeable of the area and even more about the marine and land animals. Tracking down the bears was a real hiking adventure so be...

Personal and unique best describes our visit to Mike and Robin Munsey's Bear Camp on the Uyak Bay. We have had the opprtunity to vacation with them on two occasions. Once as a family with our children, then 11 yo, 15 yo, and 18 yo and more recently with friends. Telling the tales of the plane-landing on the water of...

We stayed at Munsey's in early-mid July...and it's very cool. I almost don't know how to rate this place...because it's hard to compare this to anything else... Mike and Robin Munsey were great hosts. When we start to talk about our 18 days in Alaska, we normally start by describing the experience at Munsey's. The accommodation were not "great"...very simple...but...

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing experience at Munsey's Bear Camp. The bear viewing experiences were better than we ever hoped for. We also saw foxes and silly seals and sea otters and some great whale shows. Mike and Robin (the owners) and Toni (the entire staff) were wonderful. The food was plentiful, varied and delicious. The family...

My wife and I have made 2 bear viewing/fishing trips to Munsey's and I'm certain we'll make more in the future. Mike and Robin Munsey are great people that provide their guests a safe and comfortable environment to enjoy some of the most incredible experiences that Alaska has to offer. If you want to see how Kodiak brown bears act...

This was my third brown bear hunt with Munsey Bear Camp. All three hunts have been guided by Mike and on occasion, assisted by Bob Munsey , Curtis Byrd and Ryan Augustine. Simply, Mike has the most professional staff of any of the places I have ever hunted in Alaska. The experience of being on Kodiak Island and waking each...

I traveled with 2 hunting companions and Mike Munsey was my guide. I shot a Boone & Crocket coastal brown bear. I ate like a king from the kitchen of Robin Munsey and I slept in a very comfortable & very clean log home that Mike & Robin had built themselves, It was everything I dreamd it would be. Every...

I have been to Munsey's Bear Camp 6 times to either hunt or fish. Each time I have taken family and friends who throughly enjoyed a true wilderness vacation. Both Mike and Robin Munsey have it down pat when it comes to providing a memorable trip. The fishing for salmon and halibut is fantastic. Wildlife from bears to eagles abound....
