On arrival we were greeted by Robin and Angel and given a room on the main floor. We felt right at home with all the needed necessities of a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and shower soaps. We stayed 2 nights on different parts of our road trip so we experienced 2 rooms. Both were decorated with the owner's fantastic memorabilia and art. We chose to have dinner on our first night. The meal was delicious for a very reasonable cost. The property is being constantly worked on and upgraded. There is also a beaver family to enjoy watching as well the birds (and squirrel) at the feeders. We had a flock of 295 sandhill cranes migrate overhead at dusk. The aurora came out on both our stays!
We had 3 rooms all along the same hallway. The rooms were not fancy but offered everything we needed and were very clean. We asked for a fan and hairdryer and the host immediately produced both. She made a great breakfast the next day along with excellent coffee. The only negative would be the stairs to get to the 2nd level. We managed but it was slow going with our luggage. We will definitely return.
Spent two nights in the little log cabin out back. Staff were great and very accommodating. Val, angel and let’s not forget lil miss Betty were all very friendly and helpful. Grilled outback with beavers nearby.
A good place to spend a night if you are on your way from Fairbanks to Denali N.P. and you decided you are not willing to pay those exorbitant prices asked in lodges and cabins near the park. Robin is nice and hospitable, the rooms are simple but have all the necessary amenities, and they are clean and well priced. it is a 50 minute drive to Denali.
My sister, mother and I stumbled upon this roadhouse and we fell in love. Robin, our host, took us in an hour and a half after our late night phone call and she greeted us with a smile and warm welcome! Her rooms are clean, well equipped and cozy beyond words! Her eclectic decor make you feel like you’re visiting family and she treats you as such. In the morning she made us a lovely breakfast and joined us for conversation and stories. It was like visiting an old friend; this place is truly special!
