Over the weekend I had the opportunity to visit Mount Kenya Leisure Lodge and would like to offer a review. We drove about 4 hours on the busy Nairobi - Nanyuki road and branched off right at Naro Moru town and approximately 2km stretch on paved road we arrived at the lodge entrance. The lodge is located on the foothills...

I recently stayed at Mt. Kenya Leisure Lodge as part of a trip to build a women's resource center in the area, through Edge of Seven. Much of the stay (2 weeks) we had the hotel to ourselves. My room had a "Juliet" balcony looking at the gardens and was wonderful. The treat each night was the hot water bottles...

Totally idillic location and experience. Wonderful hotel service, and good food. Perfect location for access to Mt Kenya, or Kirinyaga as is its correct name. The lodge itself , even though its not that old,is starting to look a little tired and could do with some updating, but this was secondary in terms of what I was looking for. Staff...

I’m shocked to read positive reviews on this location. I wish people had been honest in their previous reviews, as we never would have stayed here. The lodge a is very poorly-maintained, dirty and tired premises. The rooms were cramped with broken furnishings with filthy bathrooms. (see photos). They are building a new block of units, and management have obviously...

The hotel is cool on the banks of river. The fish from the river is very fresh and delicious as you taste the Trout fish from the Tigithi River. The houses are good but at night due to closeness to the mountain and you need to ask for an extra blanket. It is a cool place to be.
