It was only a really short stay but we totally enjoyed it and can 100%ly recommend this lodge to other travelers!

Thank you for your comments. "Woody" is our young, smallish dog who arrived shortly after we lost our two old faithful Labradors. He has been with us a while now and loves everyone.

Our stay at Dakune Lodge was our best in the North Island. It is a wonderful place to relax. The hosts were incredibly kind and enjoyable to talk with. The value far exceeded the modest cost.

Dakune Lodge is absolutely the best place we've stayed. The owners, Nic and Tascha, are very friendly and welcoming, and you almost feel like it's your own home.

When you come back after completing the Tongariro Crossing or a long day mountain biking it is great to soak tired muscles in our spa pool or relax on the deck with a beer or a glass of wine.

Stayed here twice, each time leaving very early (whanganui river and tongoriro crossing, always spotlessly clean, great showers and cool communal areas and balcony. Cannot believe the value too here in summer! We hope to be back again!

daKune Lodge is located at the end of a no exit road so we don't get the noise of traffic, and with the gardens and our pets it does bring you a gentle experience.
