Was amazing value. Had the place almost completely to ourselves. The owners were lovely and helpful. Walking distance (1km dirt road) to Mt Sunday (Edoras). Sunset was beautiful, amazing corner of the world. Facilities were great. Outdoor kitchen. Bring bug spray as the mosquitos are present near the creek. A little windy so bring a jumper. If you find our...

Normally there are 4 things I look for in a hotel. Good service, a great location, a comfortable bed and a decent shower. The service at Mt Potts lodge was outstanding - nothing was too much trouble from the wonderful management couple who made us feel warm and welcomed. The location is spectacular - quiet, secluded with to die for...

Abby and Cavan the 2 hosts are sweet and very welcoming. I ve stayed in many big hotels around the world and 1-2 overall can match this experience I had in their lodge. They have a great selection of drinks at the bar, you can chitchat or if u decide to be a bit in peace you can take a...

Camped here for an evening on a whim and had a really great evening hosts Cav & Abi really made the evening. Chatting to new friends around the camp fire. Really good night. Only thing I'd say is the rates for an un powered site or bunk room are quite steel for a regular visit.

This place was unbelievably awesome! My friend and I drove in through Mt Somers and the road there was incredible. The scenery is just like in LOTR, and you do feel removed from everyone else. We stayed 1 night there supposedly, but in the end extended our stay to another night. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the floor has...

we did not stay overnight. but we spend couple of hours in and around the property, visited Mt. Potts and had lunch there. If you are an LOTR fan you have got to see the place and even hike up Mt Sunday. The view from there is amazing.

I stayed here for a wonderful two nights in one of the bunk rooms ($45 pp/pn). Rosalie was very kind and helpful. You can do some great walks from their property. One of the first ones I did gave me a great view of Mt. Sunday, AKA Edoras. This is a really stunning area, away from everything. I could have...

Mt Sunday is the site of Edoras from the Lord of the Rings movie. It is situated near Methven in the South Island of New Zealand. In Methven they will tell you that it is an hours drive. I found it more like 1 1/2 hours. The last. 25 k is on gravel. Having said that the trip was well...

Although it is up a 20 Km unmade road, the effort is well worth it. No TV, no wi-if and no phone signal - brilliant for some peace and quiet with stunning views. Take you own food. Excellent outdoor BBQ facility. Rooms are very well equipped, spotless and comfortable. Our reception was welcoming very friendly. Wish we could have stayed...

We had a wonderful stay at Mt Potts Lodge. Rosalie and Patrick were absolutely fantastic hosts - very accommodating to our German family group and gave good recommendations for walking tracks to get the best views of the area. The deluxe rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with utensils to use in the communal BBQ area. There was no...
