Was on Kosrae for work and heard of the Kosrae Village Ecolodge and Dive Resort. However, drove by and it was closed, and was told by others that it has been closed for some months. Located a good spell from the other lodging facilities on the island. Do hope it is revived again. Would recommend the Treelodge as a place...

It was a beautiful spot, close to the soothing sound of waves crashing on the beach and is a nice idea if you want to experience close to remote island living. I only had (nice) coffee at the restaurant so am not sure what the food is like. Locals do drop in for dinner, so must be okay. The lady...

The Kosrae Village Ecolodge and resort is located on the southern side of Kosrae island some distance from the airport. The lodge will arrange for you to be picked up but you may want to consider car rental as the lodge itself is a distance from everything else. But then, this is Kosrae, so there isn't much everything else out...

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay on Kosrae! As you noticed, the ocean doesn't necessarily make a good neighbor and sometimes the corrosion gets ahead of us. Since you visited, several cottages have been re-wired completely and of course Ackley and his gang are continuously refreshing the thatch and other biodegradable materials. We really appreciate the feedback, it's...

Since our UNITED Air flight was diverted due to Tropical Storm Dolphin, 87 pax landed unexpectedly in Kosrae. After chaos at the airport for a few hours, we all got sorted somehow...9 of us came to Kosrae Village Resort. Bruce and team with zero advance notice sent cars to the airport for us, and with great effort made up the...

I'm so glad that we were there when you needed a haven. I'd like to know more about the cleanliness issue - could you email me privately to fill me in? I'm not sure if I'm allowed to leave an address here, but I'll try. katrina @ kosraevillage.com Thanks! Katrina

Had the rare opportunity to go diving in truly out-of-the-way destination. Never before had I been on a tropical island where I was the only person on the beach as far as the eye could see. Katrina and Bruce are truly gracious hosts, doing what they can to make the experience exceptional. I went for the diving, which was hands-down...

Katrina and Bruce have set up a great place for a wonderul holiday. You are back to Nature, with little worries. We had the air-conditioned lodge and each morning when we woke up we found that the high tide had brought loads of coral onto our front porch! we walked mile during low tide just walking out the front door.saw...

Another great trip to Kosrae and the Village. Besides the always good diving, we particularly loved the mountain hikes to see Japanese Caves and the outrigger mangrove forest tour. We will never forget the chance to see the flying foxes in their native environment. Enjoyed the nightly crab skirmishes on the way to our cabin at night. Katrina, Bruce, and...

Stayed here for 7 nights in May 2014. You're here to experience the traditional way of living on the islands, like living in the nature, so don't bring the mentality of staying at a 5-star resort property with you (but the amenities were well prepared, just like what one would see at 5-star property). Other than that, with helpful and...

Kosrae Village is one of the best kept secrets in the world. This is probably because in general Micronesia -- and Kosrae specifically -- is so hard to get to (although it's a gorgeous trip, starting either from the US via Hawaii or via Guam). But the time and effort involved are so worth it! Katrina and Bruce have built...

This was our second time to KVR. Has changed very little in 5 years (this is a Good Thing). No one should go here that is looking for a super-luxurious hotel. These are private thatched huts on the beach, far enough away from one another that you'd never have to interface with fellow guests if you so choose. If you...

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. As you pointed out - living next to the ocean leads to instant corrosion, which added to the ongoing "biodegrading" of biodegradable materials means that we have to continuously replace thatch, reed siding and sometimes even timbers. Fortunately we've got a really great crew who do just that. Equally fortunately, our...
