Early season visit and found this gem in the middle of Main Street just lovely. Barbara, a long time local was so helpful and told us about the town and history of this family hostel. Stay here a night or two and you’ll feel like...More
We stayed here after our attempt of Mt Foraker, after weeks of sitting out storms, the House of 7 Trees was a great place to unwind and hangout. The rooms/kitchen/bathrooms were all very very clean. We watched movie after movie on the TV, and made...More
The House of Seven Trees (or six stumps) is alive and well! Barb is managing this cozy and clean hostel and guest house again, and I'm over the moon.

Awesome location! Right downtown Talkeetna and in walking distance of the sites. A laid back environment where you can meet other travelers. Shared bathrooms that are clean but are in need of repair. Mattresses and bed linens need updating. An affordable place to stay.

Breakfast is not included- there is a really nice kitchen/stove and dining area, however, to prepare food using dishes that belong to the hostel. You will need to purchase your own items to snack on or have breakfast (if you don't intend to eat at one of the venues within easy walking distance across the street) at the General Store- there is milk, fruit, and cereal hot/cold though it will be at unusually high prices being in such a remote area.
I was not able to find a website when I booked, I had to call- keep in mind the time zones, because the phone is in an area in the living space that would wake several people if a call came in at 3am. It is listed as +1 907-733-7733
If you were unable to call, if you messaged me your reservation I would call from here in the States for you- to make a reservation in your name- I was just there about two months ago and had a wonderful visit. Guests pay prior to departure, credit cards accepted then.
