Northern Guest House is 2 blocks from Main St.Close to all services Talkeetna has to offer. The Guest house has many family orientated activities both indoor and outdoor. This is a great place to stay with a group of friends for the weekend. Each having their own space.
It is a solid place at a reasonable cost. The ground floor of the house is much larger than I expected and has all necessities. In addition the house is in a great location between the downtown area of Talkeetna and the bus depot. Paula is a wonderful host and readily available to help.

We only want two things when we travel- comfortable beds and a clean place. We found the guest house to have really bad beds (creaky springs, really thin... a notch above camping mattresses) and the place wasn’t exactly clean. The place is pretty run down for the price. The room heater (only thing available to heat the place) didn’t provide enough heat for the room, so we were freezing all night. No interaction with the host when we were there. Maybe a great place for students, not adults.

Paula was great to deal with. We needed early checkin for our groceries and she was glad to help out. We needed laundry after getting muddy Paula was right there and willing. We rented the whole place and it was great for our family. Plenty of room for all. For the price and location you’re not getting any better. Thanks Paula!

We really appreciated how accommodating this house was for our group of 11. There was plenty of space for all of us to comfortably spread out. This is a very good location for walking just about anywhere in Talkeetna. We appreciated the ping pong table, piano, and well stocked kitchen. We definitely recommend staying here and will visit again next time we’re in Talkeetna. Thank you!!

Whether you are a single, couple or a group of nine as we were, you'll love this place at any season of the year. Rent the whole shebang or just one of three lockable private rooms -- each with designated bathroom. Location is perfect for walking anywhere in town, even west to the river where you may catch Denali views on a clear day. The full kitchen, good-sized dining table, cozy living room (with ping pong table!) make your stay almost like "home."

I stayed 2 nights in room 1 which had its own bathroom across from the kitchen. The room was very large, can sleep 4. It was quiet, even with other guests upstairs. Paula was a great host, with her own dried salmon a bonus! It was also interesting to listen to her stories. The provided bicycle was a bonus, enabling me to get out and see my surrounds. It's a short walk into the hub of Talkeetna, but getting to/from the train station is a bit of a hassle if you have a suitcase.

We were in town for a family reunion. Northern guest house was a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen was fully furnished and we were able to cook any meal we wanted. If we did not want to cook- we were walking distance from all the delicious restaurants in Talkeetna. The neighborhood is quiet and the beds were comfortable. Paula’s smoked salmon was a big hit. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

This is a basic accommodation in a house with bedrooms and a large common room and kitchen. Dogs are accepted. I don't recommend this guest house if you can't do steps as there is a spiral stairway. The innkeeper was friendly

It was a lot more than we expected. It was by far the cleanest guest rooms that I have been in. This would be my first choice the next time I'm in town. The location is within walking distance of all of the town. Large kitchen and also pet friendly.

I stayed here two nights.Paula, the owner, picked me up from the station as it was raining but it's very near everything.Just two minutes to all main attractions.I stayed in room 1,it's very comfy and the private bathroom is separate, just across the sitting room. The heater was on so it was cosy and warm. There were lovely flanelette sheets and plenty of towels, soap and shampoo. The communal kitchen has all you need, tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, spices.Paula also gave me some of her home smoked salmon. The location is quiet and peaceful. There is local info available, maps, books, ebrs. The only thing is that there's no WiFi.Otherwise, great value for money.
