I have little to add to other enthusiastic comments about the location. Fantastic...The downside is mosquitoes -you have to sleep under the nets. And if you hate the noise in addition to being bitten, as I do, It is a good idea to travel with a mosquitoe racket in the islands anyway (you can buy them easily in Papeete) The quality... We arrived in Tikehau with a storm and even with that the beach where our bungallow was looked fantastic. Next days when the sunny days returned the awesome white sand beach with crystal clear turquoise water regain all its magic. The bungallows are nice with mosquito nets. Mosquitoes were the worst part of our stay in Pension Hotu. Maybe because... More

The minute we arrived at Tikehau, Alexander was waiting for us with a warm welcome and BIG grin. It was a short, 2 minute drive to pension hotu and our quaint beach cottage/bungalow. Being over large hotels, this was perfect and affordable in every way. Our bungalow slept 3 (2 x adults & 1 x 5 year old)of us comfortably... More

For our trip to FP, we were looking to stay in the pensions - and Hotu Guesthouse was incredibly special in that you share breakfast and dinner at a table with the other guests - and we met some incredible people we kept running into (very happily!) the rest of our trip (if you know there's more to FP than... My husband and I visited seven islands and from the pensions we stayed this was the one we ‎less liked! At the other pensions we felt comfortable and immediately welcomed but here we ‎had some communication problems and the owner (a woman) treated us as air! First of all I ‎have to say that we do not speak French, however... More

This is the way to visit Polynesia: stay at the small pensions. No hot water, sometimes no light, no buffet, no all inclusive: but good atmosphere and affordable prices.

I came to this atol for diving and it was very satisfactory :) the bungalows are fine with a nice view and setting right on the beach looking at the lagoon with plenty of shade from all the palms and trees around. alexandre is a great host who knows how to treat his clients... This was our last stop on this trip (and 3rd trip to F.P and to the Tuamotus!) and we felt that once again being in the Tuamotu was like living in paradise (or in the perfect postcard)... All the bungalows are on the beach and have a covered terrasse where you can sit on and watch the sunset. Actually we... More

This was our last stop on our 3 week holiday in polynesia. After having delicious food we were disappointed about the poor quality of the meals provided. Since the island is so small, you pretty much have to eat what they are serving. Example of a dinner: a salad ( think carrot and a squeeze of lime juice), plain rice... More

The Hotu guest house is probably the best value on the island : simple but nice bungalows that the owners keep on improving, ideal location on the beach, and a most friendly service of the owners' parents. Great food also. a very good choice
