Our trip to Ecton House was our first since lockdown. We felt very safe and beautifully looked after. We only saw other guests fleetingly and the hosts were attentive, friendly and thoughtful. The house is stunning, with mesmerising views, spotlessly clean and in an idyllic location that proved perfect for walking the coastal path and dropping into Newport for dinner each night. We are looking forward to our return visit very much.

We can't rate this place highly enough.

Firstly, Magda and Evan are such lovely hosts, they couldn't do enough for us and were very kind and helpful. They even gifted us with a bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates when they found out we were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Secondly, the accommodation was fantastic. We were in room T with its own terrace and outdoor dining area, with views of the garden and the sea. Breakfast was delivered every morning to our room, which we ate whilst taking in the scenery. The fridge in the room was stocked with milk, yoghurts, orange juice, water and there was a nespresso machine and hot water dispenser with teas and coffees supplied. Takeaways are also permitted.

Lastly, the location is amazing. Close to the coastal path for those wanting a scenic walk and within driving distance to lots of spectacular beaches and coves, all of which we made the most of as the weather was particularly good.

Recommendations - the best restaurant nearby is The Golden Lion, which Magda happens to work at - the food was delicious!
If you are looking for an alternative way to take in the sights, Havard Stables do various length pony treks up the mountain and both the ponies (Puzzle and Doris) and staff were great.

We would not hesitate to recommend a stay here and will definitely be returning. 😁

There is nothing bad I could say about Ecton House. It’s the perfect example of a luxury B&B. We stayed for 3 nights in room T. The room is airy, spacious with plenty wardrobe space and exceptionally clean. The en-suite bathroom is huge with a wonderful rain shower and all toiletries provided. You have a coffee maker, tea maker and fridge, stalked with yoghurt, water, fresh juice and fresh milk in the room. Breakfast is provided on a trolly outside your room every morning at a time that suits you which we thought was a great idea as you can have breakfast at leisure while enjoying the view. There is a plentiful choice of cereals, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, croissants and veg options. We couldn’t fault the breakfast or the service and we only had to ask for anything we needed. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

Absolutely loved our time at Ecton House, wish we were still there! Everything was so well thought through, from the welcome drink on arrival, the milk, yoghurt and orange juice in the fridge, to the cart with cutlery and plates for takeaways etc. Breakfast was in your room due to COVID but we actually loved this. We felt very looked after but also like we had our own space. Beautiful views from the room, including rabbits in the garden, and very quiet at night for sleeping. Would definitely recommend a stay.

What a delight to return to Ecton House, and Evan and Magda's warm welcome! Our room gave us spectacular views of Newport Beach and the sea, a perfect base for trekking along the wonderful Pembroke coastal path. Covid-wise we felt very safe in the spacious public areas and with a hot buffet breakfast served on a trolley outside our room. This was our third visit. We've already booked our next!

Stayed here with my partner for a weekend break. This is probably the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in within the UK. Evan and Magda go out of their way to ensure that you have a home from home experience, nothing is too much trouble for them, they were also very dog friendly. The house is beautiful and everything down to the last detail is spot on. We really enjoyed the peaceful views over Newport Bay and the surrounding countryside, we felt so relaxed during our stay. Our vegan breakfast was fantastic too, we can't wait to return!

Ecton House is stunning. We booked fairly late and got the family room which was perfect. Huge bathroom with walk in shower and stand alone bath . There was a fridge packed with milk , orange ,water and yogurts for our 4 night stay , a hot water dispenser and nespresso machine. We were offered a drink on arrival which was a lovely touch and both Evan and Magda were friendly and perfect hosts. Breakfast was pre ordered and delivered to our toom at a time of our choosing. From our room we looked out over the beautiful gardens down to the sea. It's a short walk down to the cliff path and you can watch beautiful sunsets from there. There is also plenty of parking room. We would not hesitate to recommend Ecton House as the perfect base from which to explore Pembrokeshire.

If planning to eat out in the evening it would be best to book before you visit as both decent pubs in Newport were fully booked for the mid week nights we were there and ended up going further afield

I can’t give a view on value as my wife and I were treated to it by the organiser of his mother ‘s 70th birthday bash weekend. Evan and Magda run this B&B exceptionally well, we stayed from Friday to Monday and couldn’t have asked for more. The breakfasts were delivered to your room at your desired time, we also treated to Evans cooking as we had three other meals as well. I can’t recommend Ecton House enough. I forgot to say the rooms are beautiful with exceptional views and it’s only a short walk to the sea down a pretty path.

This place!! What can I say... Magda and Evan have got it so right in terms of this STUNNING property and the beautiful interior design. Everything is SPOTLESS. You walk into the atrium and feel like you are in a movie! The photos just don't do this place justice. This is our second time to stay and we have booked again. We are always sad to leave because we have such a relaxing time here. The breakfast currently served to the rooms as pre-order (because of Covid restrictions) feels special and is just yummy with everything thought of for the guests. We have hired the entire house out with our family for our next visit and can't wait! And just lastly to add, Magda and Evan are so friendly, welcoming and professional, something you just don't get seem to get anymore - this makes you want to come back for another stay :-)

Evan and Magda are fantastic hosts, they both work very hard in running the B&B. The attention to detail is superb. Breakfast was delicious including the fruit salad and the B&B was very very clean. The room was also well equipped and we had a lovely sea and garden view. The house itself is beautiful, however, the highlight of our stay was the hosts, the welcome we received during our stay, was outstanding. Once again, thank you very much Magda & Evan…. Keep up the great work!!!!
