Greer as a town is a true gem of Arizona. It is quiet, peaceful, and green. Add a stay at the Red Setter Inn and you cannot beat this quiet escape, whether you're enjoying the mild summer temperatures accompanied with afternoon rain showers, or exploring it as a snowy winter destination. There is no cable TV(!) so we really spent...

If you go to the Red Setter Inn website, you will see that they are big on their supposed accolades from Fodors. If you go to the Fodors website, you won't find any mention or reference to Red Setter Inn. Red Setter is not a luxury accomodation. It is overpriced on the basis of that assertion. Staying there, I found...

After reading the previous review, I thought about what I would write. You see, I too have been going to the Red Setter for years. This was the first time my husband and I went back under the new owner. And, I'm sorry, but it was NOT the same. There was no personality or feeling of specialness. It was just...a...

I cannot imagine how anyone could not have truly enjoyed the splendid place we found at the end of the "Road to Nowhere"... Let me start by stating that I am a REAL person. An average Joe (so to speak). Not too stuffy and stuck on myself that I would order someone up to kill a spider for me. I...

This property has changed hands. The new owner does not pay any attention to detail. There was no staff at the inn at check in time. We had to go to another property down the road, and request admittance to our room. Our room came complete with dust bunnies and mouse drippings. Gourmet breakfasts on the deck are a thing...

My wife and I have stayed at the Red Setter at least 40 nights since it opened in '95. A weekend fall foliage pilgrimage from the Phoenix area has become an annual tradition for us over the years along with other random stays throughout all seasons. Each visit was everything one would expect for a place that received a Fodor's...

Such a disappointing experience ... we had stayed there before under the previous ownership and it was FIRST CLASS. We were expecting the same, but the accommodations themselves have slipped noticeably, as has the food and service. To top it all off, the new ownership had us pay for our cabin in full upon check-in (at first class rates). When...

Just returned from 3 nights at the Red Setter Inn. We were so anxious to experience an "over-the-top" B&B..subsequent to reading reviews stating it was one of 10 best B&B's in the WORLD----not. We found that new owners had taken over in March and are resting on the laurels and hard work of the previous owners. It was advertized as...

We made an impromptu stop in Greer on our way home to Phoenix from a visit to New Mexico. Having never traveled to the White Mountains, we had some time and thought a detour would be fun. We had read about the Red Setter Inn online and were lured by the fact that it was an ‘adults only’ property. Not...

Fodor's got it right when they said this is one of the 10 Best B&B's in the world. Set amidst the ponderosa pines of AZ high country at 8700 foot elevation, it is the most wonderful way to escape the heat of the desert or just plain wind down & let your stress melt away. Opened in 1994, the log...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Perhaps you have heard of Greer, Arizona, located at the end of the Road to Nowhere. Surrounded by the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, there is one road in and one road out. Meadows, Ponderosa pines, aspens, hiking trails, lakes and the Little Colorado River grace the Village with beauty. Located at the end of the road, you will find the Red Setter, Arizona's Riverside Retreat where the river meanders through the approximate 4-acre grounds, giant ponderosas abound and wildlife freely come and go. The Red Setter offers a 9 bedroom lodge and 4 detached cabins. The approximate 8,000 square foot lodge is a perfect setting for corporate events, weddings, church retreats, reunions and group outings. Each bedroom has a private bath (some with jetted tubs), several have fireplaces and some rooms have a private porch to enjoy the views and fresh air. A 75-inch HD television (with HDMI capabilities for all of your computer and presentation needs) and blu-ray DVD player are located in the living room. The lodge is equipped with a full kitchen, several tables for dining and/or meetings, a game room (with 65-inch HD television and blu-ray DVD player), and den/library. Also included are DirecTV and password secured Wi-Fi. Two large outdoor decks provide the perfect atmosphere for the soothing sound of the river in a picture perfect setting! Plentiful outdoor furniture are spread throughout the grounds, mainly along the river. The four separate cabins also sit along the river. Choose from the 2 bedroom (2 baths), the large 4 bedroom (3.5 baths) or one of the 1 bedroom (1 bath plus laddered loft) cabins. Each has its own kitchen, fireplace(s) and deck(s). Pull-out sofas sleepers allow for extra sleeping accommodations. Other amenities include barbeque grills, 46-inch HD televisions, blu-ray DVD players, Directv, password secured Wi-Fi and in some cases, jetted tubs. As the new owners of the Red Setter, we have been working hard restoring the grounds, updating cabins and adding amenities to be sure your stay is memorable and serene. Three fire pits, two horseshoe pits, picnic tables, relaxing swings and chairs along the river are just some of the recent upgrades. We hope the memories of fishing, playing, relaxing and pure serenity will last you a lifetime! ... more   less
