We have just spent 6 nights at this property (now called Plett Forest Cabins) & I am pleased to report that under new ownership many of the things that have previously been complained about have been changed. There are new beds & new linen and the cabins have been repainted inside & are clean & comfortable. The children loved feeding... More

We stayed over for two nights in the July 2015 holiday. When we made the booking, we saw the bad reviews, but on the internet the photos of the place looked so lovely. We decided to ignore the bad reviews and decide for ourselves. We even asked about the bedding which everyone complained about, when we made the booking and... More

Thankyou very much for the friendly owner and staff, we really enjoyed our stay was worried at first with peoples reviews but we had no problem everything was neat and clean and we were asked each morning if we needed anything, kids loved the pool and the animals, it is very relaxing and very nice with all the rain we... We stayed for two nights and found the bedding absolutely disgusting. Two old flat pillows stuffed into one pillowcase, old stained sheets, an old blanket stuffed in duvet cover and the list can go on and on. The Jacuzzi has not been cleaned properly in ages. After we turned on the jets all the foam and water turned grey when... More

We spend this long weekend at them for our first family breakaway. What a terrible experience, shocking service from the owners. The electricity went out the Sunday morning - by lunch time still no feedback from the owners on what's happening, on top of this we discover we sit with no water. Going up to the house to find out... More

I would just like to thank the owners for creating the perfect stop for our family. We were truly enchanted by the free roaming deer and the tree-house-in-the-woods feeling. Our two boys of 4 and 3 years had an amazing time inspecting the tree house cabin with its Heidi-like loft. The play area, chickens, pond and pool were an extra... More

Let me start by saying that this place has so much potential and I would really like to see it succeed. I mean this sincerely. It has a potentially winning recipe, and the owners are friendly so it pains me to have to write this negative review. So let's start with the positives. The free-roaming, tame fallow deer are awesome.... More

We booked 3 cabins 10 adults 4 children, on face value they looked great, how wrong we were. The bedding was stained and smelled like they had not been washed in months on all beds in all 3 cabins, as for the beds very uncomfortable and sagging in the middle. The bathroom in one of the cabins constantly smelt of... More

My family and I (10 adults and 4 kids) were booked to stay here for 3 nights. We stayed over 1 night out of necessity however I have never been so disgusted with a place before! Here is a list of issues we and I'm sure many people would have with this place: The cabins and bedding were filthy! The... More

Its close to Plettenberg Bay and it's beaches, so its convenient. Loads of attractions to do in the area. The kids loved the pool and the tame deer. The venue truly has great potential as the structures are well built but the interiors need work and its simple things that could be fixed quite easily. For what we paid (in... More

“Before booking, insist on finding out if they have replaced their linen, towels, mattresses and everything in their kitchens. I'd go as far as asking them to send you photos. We had the 4 sleeper near the pool. Double bed downstairs and 2 singles in the loft. The latter I would say is really only suitable for children aged ±7 - 14, as it's quite dangerous for small children and a very small space for older children.”

“A good room is waiting for you at a different establishment - you won't find it here. (In fact, you'll struggle to find this place at all as the website address is obscure and the signposting terrible. Be prepared to waste lots of petrol/diesel driving back and forth, and then hours of frustration when dealing with the owner.)”
