Great view and nice staff but lots to improve. Be careful which room you book some of them don't have showers and the one we were in had a curtain 'door' for the toilet. Also there's no aircon in any of the rooms. Vintage style is nice but doesn't make up for lack of amenities. Pool is very small and...

Dear World T, thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us on Tripadvisor. Palette berg Bay is a funny place. At first sight the town centre has a slightly tacky look to it. Scratch beneath the surface, however, and there's a lot more to it. The Grand Cafe is a bit like that too. From the outside it's. Toning to look at, but inside is a different matter. We had a fabulous room,...

We stayed 4 nights at this vintage, very faded/shabby grandeur of a hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are intriguing in style and certainly 'different'. Food is freshly made so be prepared to wait, and the menu uncomplicated, but certainly all delicious. However, the grandeur is rather tired in places and needs some attention, and...

Booked three rooms (well ahead) for our trip with grown up children and partners. Rooms are all unique with massive beds and one-off plumbing and decor. Breakfasts were brilliant, freshly cooked to order. Best of all the balcony views right across Plettenberg Bay were simply stunning. Spent ages looking out with a chilled glass of something local. Excellent spot.

Is it possible for a room to be too nice? It was such a beautiful room that I didn't want to leave it! I could have spent my full stay in the room. Very unusual with two large beds and a bath in the room. Ours also had a lovely private outside bit. The views from the restaurant were amazing...

Stayed in room 5 for two night, the decor really is beautiful and quirky! We did feel however that some aspects of the room could do with updating. The towel holder for example was not securely fastened to the wall, so keep an eye on your toes. The rug on the impressive marble floor was a death trap as it...

I took friends for lunch, and we had a cringingly bad experience. Our waitress had only been there a month, and was obviously not trained. This place is decorated in a quite stylish way. The room stayed in, room 5, had a great view of beaches and the lagoon. One tip is to rnsure that you get inside parking.
