It has already been said that one of the things that makes Milkwood special is the perfect position on the waters edge and for exploring the Garden route. The other thing that makes it special is Kees' knowledge and passion for the area....he says if you can stay three weeks he can suggest something different for every day! Having breakfast...

if you are looking for a special place - milkwood manor is the one!! right on the waters edge, but only because a big flood in 2007 washed the trees and beach and the pool !! away. so now you can look out onto the keurbooms river and the stunning, remote beach opposite. take a kajak and paddel across and...

Looking for a place to have lunch, we turned down a small street and stumbled upon the Lemon Grass Restaurant.... Since we didn't have a place to stay that night, we also ended up staying at the Milkwood Manor.... What a great find! We stayed only one night, but could have stayed more. The staff was friendly and they gave...

Having returned from our trip to South Africa, I have finally got round to writing this review. Milk wood Manor is one the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The setting is simply beautiful with water almost all around you, Plettenberg itself is a lovely town and as we didn't have great weather, we will definitely be back to...

We cannot recommend this lovely guest house highly enough. Perfect position for many of the Garden Route sights. Owners very helpful and know the area well - staff very friendly and the attached Lemon Grass restaurant excellent. Real high light of our stay though was finding a perfect pansy shell on the sand spit opposite. I am sure we will...

We discovered Milkwood Manor on our trip down the Garden Route and my wife and I wished that we had the time to stop and spend a few more days. It is positioned right on the water's edge where the Keurbooms River meets the sea. Set apart from the rest of the town, it is only minutes from the village....

This is a lovely Guest House in a georgeous setting in Plettenberg Bay. Our beautifully decorated and spacious room had a terrace facing the sea, were we spent the afternoon reading. The staff is very friendly and we felt so taken care of. One morning we borrowed the sea kayaks (for free) and when we got back a bucket of...

The location of MM in Plett is amazing as following a huge storm a few years ago it is surrounded on two sides by water - the Indian Ocean and the Keurbooms Lagoon . Plett itself is a fascinating centre and MM showcases the area beautifully .During our 4 night stay in November 2011 we had a corner bedroom ,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Location: The most enviable location on the Garden Route. At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, jutting into the ocean - any closer and you would be in it! - as well as the estuary of a large lagoon- no neighbours but nature! Exquisite, unimpeded 180 views (360 from the roof deck) of the vast blue ocean, golden beaches, large lagoon and the imposing Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Nature all'round, yet not isolated, but only a 2-minute drive from the town centre and its trendy shops.A pristine beach: accessible from the sheltered cove adjacent to the Manor - ideal for swimming in natural water – you may boat across to an unspoiled and usually deserted beach, far from built-up areas, traffic, crowds and noise. Blissful solitude and a complete immersion in nature, with only the sound of white-crested surf tumbling at one’s feet and the calls of a medley of seabirds – a veritable bird sanctuary. Becalming and rejuvenating - the perfect antidote for stress,. With luck you may even find the mysterious and sought-after pansy shell (sand dollar). The Manor: built in classic Georgian style, with an airy double-volume foyer and eleven double bedrooms, most with private patio or balcony. All rooms are decorated in crisp white and en-suite to a shower cubicle with/without bath, and a queen bed or twin beds, TV-hospitality package, free uncapped Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, fan, heater and hairdryer. The sash windows allow the fresh ocean air straight in. ... more   less
