When it comes to backpackers, I rely on friends'/colleagues recommendations (because you never know what you'll get!) and a lot of friends recommended Lungile Backpackers for a recent road trip to PE. Great location, clean rooms and amenities, wonderful staff, and the backpackers' organises a range of activities for you while in PE (if you're keen.) We did a walking...

We had a very pleasant stay at Lungile Backpackers! We had a really cool city tour with Afroventures which is the tour company of the hostel. we got to see the really cool hidden gems Port Elizabeth has to offer, who would've known that Port Elizabeth was such a stunning European like city. We visited via the Baz Bus but...

It's the second time that I stayed at Lungile and I really like this place! It's really close to the beach and restaurants and clubs. The swimming pool is so cool to relax after a long day in summer and the lounge area around the fire is also nice in winter: you just want to stay in the comfy couch...

My group of 13 friends arrived late after a really hard night. We were honestly not sure where we were or what we were going to do once we got there but Freddy, the employee at the front desk, was so helpful and did whatever he could to find us accommodations at the last minute. Staying at this hostel was...

The lungile lodge claim is " it's all good". After three nights i can say "it's all horrible". The room was very used, dark and noisy. The staff tried to be friendly and helpful. But most time they were playing pool, watching tv or using smartphones. The kitchen was the ugliest one i've seen in the last two weeks between...

The Lungile Backpackers is well located, close to the beach, stores and restaurants. I stayed in a beautiful dorm under the roof with wooden bunk beds. Enough room for luggage and lockers for personal and valuable belongings. The hostel offers a pool for everyone, a communial kitchen, a pool table and a few other things. The hostel was really clean...

This hostel is okay for a night or two in transit. It's not a party hostel or a great place to meet other travellers, however there are lots of locals who hang out here. In my dorm I was the only person actually travelling, the other 3 people were all locals who found living in the hostel and renting out...

I have been there 3 times for quick overnight stays before hopping on the next flight. Comfy, clean, near the airport, friendly staff, good wifi, cheap. Its near the airport in a quiet suburb and there's a shopping mall not too far away. its ideal

Night staff were delightful and friendly. On a Friday night, they must've had their whole family come for a reunion or something because it was quite a party. The smoking section was underneath the only window the dorm had, which equals a smoke filled room. There are only 2 toilets to share between 2 large dorm rooms, 6+ people each....

Thank you for the review. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. Glad to hear that the night staff were friendly and helpful. We are in the process of having more bathrooms added to the lodge. Our sheets and bedding are washed daily. Music should not be blasted at 6:30 in the morning as guests are still sleeping,...

What luck to find such a nice lodge! It is on the Baz Bus route so it was easy to get there. I had booked a room and was pleased that we had a private bath. The lodge is about a 5 minute walk from the beach and the fabulous McArthur swimming pool in Nelson Mandela Bay. There are several...
