We had a lovely stay at this "African" like guest house. Safe and secure parking, the rooms are spacious, neat and clean. Although the decor and furniture is old, you still feel at home! Friendly service and a good breakfast!!

We phoned on short notice and they greeted us friendly and showed us our room. Spacious Family room with comfortable beds and clean linen (loved the duvet inner!!!!!), separate extra bed on a stoep-like room with electric blanket and own tv (unfortunately no decoder). Leke cappuccino with the necessary tea/coffee facility... that was a definite plus for me!! Definately Value...

The guest house had a nice African theme and the price is good. The bathroom was nice. The thing to note here is you get value for the money you pay here. Its not very expensive but also its not quality. The rooms are not spacious, a little bit squeezed The staff wasn't as enthusiastic and service was not as...

What an excellent experience, this is truly a home from home. The rooms are spacious, most with there own patio! Very clean and well maintained. All the amenities one would expect from a five star establishment. This is truly five star at three star prices. The service is great with nothing being to much trouble, speak to Jabu or Temba...

Although we were welcomed at the door by the manager, my excitement soon fainted when we entered the house. Maybe I already knew that all would not be well as I have struggled for 2 days to make the booking. We had booked the Honeymoon suite (because of the very affordable price and fantastic photos on the website). We had...

This guesthouse is first of all not in Melville - it is in Westdene and a long way from the Melville amenities and restaurants. It looks like a very, very bad version of Out of Africa. Kitsh African - and I mean really kitsh - everywhere. My room is small, stuffy and not very clean. When I arrived, four of...

Our establishment is situated in the leafy suburb of Johannesburg's trendy Melville that is 400 meters away from restaurants and University of Johannesburg, we encountered a water situation which was caused by the municipality but it was sorted we apologise for any inconvenience, we always make sure our guests are always happy please visit again. I stayed here in the family room (self catering) with my daughters for the first 2 days of our South African holiday. Honestly, the place was gorgeous, quiet, and safe. The staff were all fabulous especially the manager, Themba, who took us to Soweto for a day where we had an eye-opening and highly informative experience. The breakfasts were wonderful...

Having had a very poor experience in another guesthouse in Jo'burg, Ma Khaya was just lovely. Beautiful rooms, great location, lovely staff, delightful gardens.

We stayed here for a week in August and were totally charmed. The rooms are spacious and the atmosphere is fantastically relaxed. There's a small garden and most of the rooms have their own patio or balcony. Melville itself is a relaxed neighbourhood with a great bunch of bars, restaurants and shops on 7th Street nearby. But the USP of...
