Bottom line: The Lodge is noisy, rustic, and has a manger who is indifferent to guests. Werner's Bistro and Lodge is a combination restaurant and motel. We stayed in the Lodge for one night, and ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. The restaurant itself was hopping with a DJ, music, and loud talking well into the night....

The location of the lodge is great close to the Brume Plaza, Eastgate Mall and Kensington shopping complex. Not to mention the OR Tambo international airport. The bistro has fantastic meals as the own Werner oversees each meal that leaves the kitchen. You must try the steaks, game or ribs. They the pub that is frequented by the locals is...

Wernwe's Bistro and Lodge is actually comes in this order. The bistro first and lodging last! one note of approval: the food in the bistro, is very good! if you are too drunk to drive away after heavy drinking in the bistro's pub. I assume this will be a perfect stay as you will fall as a log on your...

We celebrated a friend's 83rd birthday at Werner's. The service was very good and the waitress that served us was very friendly and helpful. The food served is good "homestyle" fair, with extremely generous portions. Prices are also quite reasonable. Just a word of caution. There are many awkward little steps in the restaurant and my friend had a rather...

We visited this establishment on the 19 October 2013 for a friends birthday. The place is lovely, the ambiance good and the music was also lovely. However the service really left a foul taste in one's mouth. Our poor waitress was serving 3 tables of +/- 10 - 15 patrons each, she was run off her feet and got not...

Werners is a family run hotel with great food, great drinks and the friendliest welcome in south Africa. The rooms are slightly dated , but who cares the ambience and food make it the best place to stay in joberg.

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and tidy all fixtures and fittings look brand new. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, the food is absolutely fantastic and the menu so varied. I would recommend coming here just to eat even if you are not staying overnight. I will always make this...

I have been to Johannesburg several times and always been to large hotels. This hotel is a small friendly hotel that gives value for money and makes you feel like a friend not a guest. I arrived on a Saturday with live music outside which stopped for the Currie cup final. Retiring after a glass or two of wine to...
