A lovely hotel in a quiet location (once the building work next door is finished!). The staff were excellent and the rooms we had (2 visits in one week) were both lovely. Room 11 had an early 'alarm call pigeon' directly above it which was a bit annoying at 5am but otherwise we had a wonderful time.

The quality of the hotel was excellent. The problem I had was that I was put into a room that was directly parallel to a building site. There was no attempt to move me or no recognition it would disturb me. I would be woken by the noise and throughout the day continuous disturbance. Staff were excellent, always very friendly.

Although I didnt stay here I spent an afternoon here meeting for drinks. We sat outside on very comfortable sofas and enjoyed the old world atmosphere of the place. It was nice and quiet, bringing peacefulness to the atmosphere. After enjoying a great cappuccino and cake we moved on to the wine selected from a super range on the wine...

The Winston is a pretty boutique hotel, a seven minute walk to the Rosebank Mall, one street off the main road. The rooms are spacious, beautiful gardens around the pool in an open courtyard and great breakfast with nice people. There is a gorgeous outside patio for breakfast or drinks in the evening. The cons are there is a 10:30...

I have stayed at this wonderful hotel several times over the years. I always feel like I have come home. Staying there this week after a four year gap, it is still as fabulous as ever. Rooms are to a very high standard and the staff are exceptional!

Location is very central and in a safe area. The hotel is beautifully decorated and well maintained. The rooms are large and comfortable. The best part is the staff and service at this rather small but intimate hotel. Breakfast was amazing and served by staff who went out of their way to make you happy. Nothing was difficult or a...

I have now stayed at The Winston Hotel on each of my four trips to Johannesburg. And each time I have come away saying, Wow, what an incredible hotel. But, actually, The Winston is more than a hotel: it is a home away from home. The rooms are lovely and the common space, including a truly out of this world...

I booked Winston's late and in a rush, it was almost an impulse booking - as an alternative to one of the 5 star chain hotels. I'm very happy that I did, the accommodatoin was superb in every respect. It's a short walk from Rosebank Mall which didn't mean a lot to me, other than being a nice area and...
