A landmark building in historic colonial in this superb suburb, Melville Turret boasts amazing accommodation, not least the luxurious loft studio we stayed in which was sumptuous and really well appointed with all the facilities you could wish for including a private outside seating area and a wonderful view over to the city skyline. The staff were warmly welcoming, friendly...

I love the Melville Turret guest house. It's affordable, clean and well staffed. The buffet breakfast is well stocked and a great way to start your day. As for location- it's within 5 min. walking distance of 7th ave in Melville, which has lots of restaurants and shops. It's also about a 15-20 min. walk to Sofiatown public bus station,...

I stayed here in June and it was the most beautiful guesthouse I've ever been to. PROS: - the main room had everything I needed and wanted: it was an open concept so the one room acted as the living room, bedroom, and kitchen; with that said, it had: a large comfortable bed, sitting area with chairs, a TV, sink...

Great things about Melville guesthouse are the staff (very friendly and helpfull) and the location (save & walking distance from a nice street with cute shops and restaurants and bars.) The rooms are no 5 star luxery, but the bed was clean, comfy and the price was absolutely goog value for money. Breakfast was nice too. Extra plus: the staff...

We stayed in the loft room and it was just awesome. Safe parking, friendly service, beautiful house, luxurious room, and a killer breakfast. We keep on coming back to this house and for good reason. The loft room is very spacious with an upper deck that looks out over the CBD

The house itself is located in-between the trees of Melville. The property is more than 100 years old yet very well restored and looked after . We stayed in a standard room and it came with aircon, shower and bath, dstv, Queen size bed and free Wi-Fi. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is large and...

The room was nice. We had the privacy for our little one to walk around. The breakfast was good, English breakfast. The man who look after the guesthouse before the 2 lady staff coming was so considerable enough to switch on the CCTV4 channel on the morning of 1st day of lunar new year, although we didn't request. Nothing to...

I stayed in the loft of this quaint guesthouse for 6 glorious days. I loved the space, and especially the view of the Johannesburg skyline from the bathroom. The bed and bedlinen were of excellent quality and the decor carefully chosen functional art deco pieces. The small kitchen had everything I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. I loved sitting...

This is a convenient location if you need to be close to the University of Johannesburg, or even the City of Johannesburg. Quit neighbourhood with restaurants and the Trendy Melville nightlife close by. Staff s friendly and the guest house has a homely feeling about it. Breakfast serving therefore can be a bit slow, but it also has this friendly...
