Although this is in the hipster Melville area, it was very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are off the main street, and at the end of a block. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff is friendly. One reason we stayed is because we enjoy breakfast at Cafe de la Crème. Great bonus and reason to stay at Saffron Guest House.

I had a perfect experience at the Saffron Guest House. It was extremely spacious, clean, and very comfortable with a beautiful little backyard to enjoy the Joburg weather. It was in a great location, with everything you need in Melville, and offered a delicious breakfast at a restaurant across the street from the Guest Houses. The staff were friendly and...

The Saffron Guest House is a great place to stay while you're in Joburg. It's in the safe, funky area of Melville, with cafes, restaurants and bars all a close walk away (my personal favourite is the Countess - for awesome food and a wonderful spot to spend some time). The Guest House itself is clean and well equipped, with...

Very comfortable stay in a lovely guest house. Great location in Melville which is like a little village with lots of good bars and restaurants. Very helpful staff. Breakfast is served in the room on trays and if anything this was the weak point.

What a wonderful find for either a one night stop-over as we did or for a longer stay. Best location possible, far enough away from the buzz of Melville's main drag to chill and relax and yet just walking distance from the bars and fine restaurants that give Melville its vibe and character. Saffron is beautifully appointed with everything you...

Within easy walking distance to Melville nightlife, this venue is a must-do stay-over place. The large room, kitchenette, bathroom and patio allow for a private up-market experience. The little touches - DStv, hairdryer, two-point plugs, fridge, microwave, coffee, tea, etc. just really help you to feel at home. Then there's the people - the staff and owners are extremely helpful...

Safe, clean, comfortable with a very able and pleasant manager. It's inexpensive and the breakfast is at a restaurant nearby and is delicious- pastries and breads very french! Thoroughly recommended. You can cook in your apartment if you like but you don't need to!

Stayed at Saffron for two nights. It offers everything necessary for a comfortable and pleasant staying. The staff were professional and friendly and very helpful when needed. parking solution was excellent. and the place is very secured though Melville seems to be a rather safe place. Location is very good in 7th street that offers a variety of pubs cafes...

We had a nice stay at Saffron guesthouse. Positives: Clean room, nicely decorated Affordable All necessary amenities FANTASTIC breakfast included Good value for money Negatives: Small room Noisy area (trendy bars and restaurants in same street - lovely for those who like a vibrant night life, less ideal for weary travellers needing an early night to recuperate) Would recommend to...
