Well furnished and spacious room facing stream, efforts made to celebrate Birthday during stay, much appreciated. Dinner in Restaurant was very good. Breakfast buffet on terasse great. All in all a vert comfortable and pleasant stay.

Vineyard Thank you to Roy Davies and his incredible team for making our stay so comfortable. The vineyard hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Cape Town. It has a magnificent garden with the most incredible views of Table Mountain. You can have a morning walk past the stream flowing from the Liesbeek river. Our favourite place is the swimming pool where we spent most of our days lounging at the pool and swimming. The Angsana spa is absolutely lovely. Thurriya at the Angsana spa was such a great host. After your treatment you are treated to muesli, fruit and yogurt and delicious ginger tea. One of the staff members who stood out was Greg at the front office. He went over and above the call of duty to handle tricky situations. When there was a misunderstanding with housekeeping he as a manger took the mop himself and cleaned our bathroom. He was kind and gracious to my kids and I will never forget him. The Vineyard hotel has a magical atmosphere and we made friends with guests from all over the world. Thank you for a magical stay.

Stunning hotel, bringing the old and new worlds together. Rooms were well decorated, comfortable and clean. We had beautiful views of the mountain. Breakfast was wonderful with a variety of options. Dinner in the Restaurant was absolutely delicious with beautiful views of the garden and mountain. The pool area is well maintained with two pools, one (indoor) slightly warmer than the other (outside).

This feels like a real part of the neighbourhood and has a great buzz to it. It is not the smartest or grandest place to stay in Cape Town but it is popular for a reason, stunningly beautiful and large gardens overlooking the back of Table Mountain, friendly and helpful staff, good food and pleasant spacious rooms, all with a sense of history and place. We had rooms with a small outside area facing the gardens which I would recommend although the old part of the hotel looks nice too. It was busy during our stay which was mostly fine but breakfast was a bit slow so arrive early - they are clearly hampered by having to do table service for everything instead of a buffet so probably better in normal times. The restaurant is a bit dated in style but the food is good and service swift and friendly. The pool is lovely and I liked the look of the spa but didn't get chance to try it sadly. Great for families and the kind of place you come back to year after year like an old friend.

We had bar snacks on the patio. The fish goujons were overpriced, max 6 small goujons plus chips for R140. The sauce on the prego roll made the bread soggy, and there was no 'bite', ie chilli. The cappuccino was awful, tasted of water and milk, couldn't taste the coffee. Service wasn't that great either, we struggled to get hold of our 'person'. All 8n all, a huge disappointment based on previous experience and visits.
