This hotel is a bit dated in comparison to the big modern glass blocks nearby. However it does have charm, a good reputation and helpful staff. It has some small nice gardens pleasant to sit out in. Food is good and well priced.
The hotel is very close to the mall in Nelson Mandela square, so the location is perfect and they provide a free shuttle to the mall.
Breakfast was perfect and the restaurant itself looks really nice. There were tables outdoors as well. Food was really...More
We selected this hotel for its proximity to the Gautrain and Mandela Square shopping. It’s perfect for both, and the Hôtel runs a free shuttle every half hour. The shuttle only holds about 6+ people so if timing is important to you, be out front...More

The rooms are very old and the Wifi for the most part was non existent. The breakfasts were very average, nothing better than one would get at home, so don't expect much more than what you would normally rustle up in your own kitchen.
The rooms were very noisy with the old air-conditioner rumbling away all night. When I turned it off the room became icily cold, so it had to remain on.
The hotel is very centrally located which is great, just don't walk around on your own in the area as 4 of my colleagues figured out the hard way. Use the hotel transport that is provided.
The hotel restaurants are very average but right around the corner in Sandton itself there are a couple of decent eateries.
