It is a pity that the surroundings of this charming hotel is not safe at all. I was on business there and my company did not allow me to walk outside on my own, because it was so unsafe. Hookers are in the street until early mornings.

Rooms clean and neat. Staff friendly and helpfull. Food average to good. Now for the bad. Prostitutes in front of hotel at night. Rooms very small, and with no balconies overlooking the back a bit cramped. Parking, yes if you are not one of the first 10 to 12 cars, your car is taken to the nearest Interpark. You then...

Although it is on the Marine Parade, the location is very unsavoury, with hookers outside even at 5.30 am. Our back room was awful, but the upgrade to a front one was well worth the price difference. The overall price was too high though. The food was indifferent. The staff were very helpful and the flower arrangements were exceptional. Overall,...

We spent a weekend at this delightful hotel in January 2015. We booked a standard double room and a superior room to cater for four adults. We experienced great service and hospitality with smiling faces from check-in to room service and cleaning. The rooms were neat, exceptionally clean and quite comfortable with decent bathrooms. The beds were comfortable, bar fridges...

We stayed there for 2 nights, The only thing that we didn't appreciate was the price. There was a difference of at least 400ZAR between the price I paid and the price that hotel staff was communicating to new guests who were coming to inquire for same night. Also, when i first enquired about additional bed the person on phone...

So very welcoming environment. Staff and management very professional. Food so outstanding and very tasteful. Security and reception staff very friendly. A real South African hotel catering for diversity. Cool place to be and great sea view from first floor. Coming again next year.

I was in Durban for a conference and chose this hotel as I like older style hotels and it was close to the conference centre. The place has a nice old-world atmosphere - although it is looking a bit tired. Bed was comfortable and the room a nice size. The staff who cleaned the rooms were delightful as were the...

When we first came across this quaint hotel we were taken abck @ how wonderful this place was. It situated in the heart of Marine Parade. The breaksfast is excellent and worth every cent spent! I would recommend asking for parking upon arrival as it does get full fairly quickly!

First time to Durban. Arrival, check in and the room were fine for us with the service and advice by the staff all good. This included ordering taxis and advice on where to go and what to avoid. The straight answer is this hotel we found fine, however the location!!! Yes you are on the front overlooking the beach great....

It's a lovely hotel situated on the beachfront ... It can be a bit noisy as you may hear the people on the street walking by as it's a high traffic area ... close to just about everything ... Food was very good especially the alacarte menu .. The one thing that stood out about this hotel while I stayed...
