We stayed here at the end of the northern leg of our trip. It is a very grand hotel set on the promenade next to the Indian Ocean. The room was very nice and ours was at the front and had an ocean view. It was very nice and served its purpose. The staff was very nice but we didn't... More

The good: fantastic location. For a very reasonable price I stayed in a water front room, literally steps to the beach. Was also a very quick uber ride to all of the other main sites Durban has to offer. The room was also very clean and spacious. The bad: Service. I originally booked this hotel through a 3rd party (booking)... More

First time in this hotel and in Durban. The hotel is charming. Lovely decor. Was it a luxury/high end hotel at some point in history? Don't know. But the room faced the ocean and that was outstanding. Spacious as it was - loved the sound of the ocean filtering into the room. The interiors were majestic. Loved the personal touch... More

the best thing about this hotel is that it is close to the beach, that's the best that I can do. I was disappointed as the hotel seemed dated and needs some renovation. The staff was wonderful with everything. My group was quoted one price and then had to pay a higher price and when one of the travelers checked... More

This hotel is very close to the beach and the golden mile. You can park your car and go for a walk, good restaurants near and parks and pools for the kids. The staff wasn't very friendly and the hotel is quite old and old fashion.

Traveling 25+ hours we wanted a nice place to crash, close to the beach and a comfortable bed. We got it all with this hotel. Our room was spacious and clean. This hotel has seen better days and needs a re furb, and because of this I feel it is slightly overpriced However the staff were very friendly, and it is situated in the ideal spot for the beach and the main attractions of Durban. If returning I would probably stay at another hotel to be fair.

We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. The room we were given was very small and pokey. The window was also very small so it was very dark in the room.
