The hotel was nice, clean with air-conditioning. Staff nice and friendly. Central location, but I've been told by friend who lives there, not exactly safe. Saying that I've never encounteted anything dodgy and I was walking around in the area, during day on my own.

Right in the heart of Durban CBD and close to the harbour, this place we thought was ideal for just an overnight stay. But so many minuses that it becomes far from an ideal accommodation in Durban. The hotel was built with no parking area. When you arrive in a vehicle, it is a challenge to get off the vehicle...

After spending three weeks on a cruise ship it's not surprising this hotel was a disappointing. Badly situated in a part of town where we were advised not to walk at night. The rooms (we had two different ones) were grim and noisy, though the beds were clean and comfortable. Contrary to advertised there is NO RESTAURANT. The snack bar/...

This hotel is very central and our reason for staying overnight.Undercover Parking is in a narrow lane opposite the hotel at a cost of R50 which is reasonable,But on arrival we were requested to pay an additional R200 refundable for parking. To cut a long story short,we were not refunded,It was a blatant con.Terrible experience all round....

I'm not too picky, but worst hotel I've ever been in. The place was probably nice 30 years ago, but now it has a creepy, decaying vibe. Specifics: No wifi in the room (although promised) - sometimes available in the crowded lobby; the phone was broken; the bed was old and lumpy; street noise is extremely loud and constant; the...

When I checked into the albany hotel there was still renovations in the reception area which was very unattractive. I do understand renovations are never attractive when in the process but could have been blocked off. elevator was extremely slow. I booked for a king size bed however received a room with two doubles. The reception was extremely informative and...

I stayed here during a meeting where the Albany was an "overflow hotel". I read the reviews and my experience more or less captures most of what's been said, although I'm less negative about the experience than the most critical review (I mean someone wants free parking in the central business district of a large city? at what normally is...
